-COMMISH-: Commish is Geoff from MDC
Creative Sports: Hello Geoff.
-COMMISH-: Welcome to all of the viewers joining us
-COMMISH-: Big Dawg Baseball is Chris McDonnell
-COMMISH-: Creative Sports is J.P. Kastner
-COMMISH-: Are our experts ready for some questions?
-COMMISH-: Welcome to Jeff Erickson of Rotowire
Big Dawg Baseball: shoot
-COMMISH-: Via AIM: bill james has shown that on average, players lose about 10% production every year after 30. If this is the case, shouldn't A-Rod be dropped a bit?
-COMMISH-: AIM comment: Hello everyone, GP from www.mlbradiofans.com here. I look forward to watching!
-COMMISH-: Just answer however you want
Baseball Notebook: Big fan of Bill James but A-Rod's not the only player over 30...
-COMMISH-: Welcome to Brent Grooms from Baseball HQ
Baseball Notebook: many of the top players are over 30...
Baseball Notebook: and so they naturally move down along with him.
Baseball Notebook: Other younger players move up.
-COMMISH-: Welcome to Pete Becker of Rotopass
Big Dawg Baseball: ARod's been so consistant for so long, I'll wait for him to drop before I project a dropoff
Baseball Notebook: And it depends on how old you think Pujols really is
Baseball Notebook: LOL
Rotopass: Statistics make for good rule-of-thumb, but Bill James is the first to tell you cognitive assesment is needed on individual basis. Especially when dealing with top players
-COMMISH-: Welcome to Rob Hurtt of The Sporting News
Mock Draft Central: you could also argue that -good- players evolve as they age. Sometimes less power and less SB, but better eye at the plate and more patience. Willing to hit the other way, etc
-COMMISH-: Welcome to Mark Haverty from Sportsblurb
-COMMISH-: Welcome to Shawn Peters of Talented Mr. Roto
The Sporting News: so mark, tell everyone what you think about the jason jennings deal :)
-COMMISH-: Oh, and welcome to Jason Pliml from Mock Draft Central
-COMMISH-: Question for our experts via AIM: of the new big impact players last year, who is due for the biggest drop off?
Rotopass: Define big?
Sportsblurb: The Astros are the dumbest team on the planet.
Rotopass: Matthews Jr. made an impact.
-COMMISH-: User comment: as a FYI in MLB.com's Mock draft will Caroll took Mauer #4 overall and utley went 8th, look for a crazy first 2 rounds. GP in Cincinnati
Rotopass: Sportsblurb; The Astros are paying Jennings half what the Royals are paying Meche. One could argue that makes them half of the dumbest team on the planet.
Sportsblurb: But the Royals did not give up three players for Meche
Sportsblurb: Okay, two players and Tavares - his being a player is questionable
Rotopass: Right. Due to contract.
Big Dawg Baseball: I'll put in a vote for Mark DeRosa as a dropoff guy
-COMMISH-: Question for our experts from e-mail: How much higher is McCann's value, and what round(s) will he most likely go in?
Rotopass: They gave up two pitching prospects.
The Sporting News: 5ht
The Sporting News: 5th that is
Baseball Notebook: Just to answer that other question on drop offs, Ibanez comes to mind.
Mock Draft Central: I'll offer up Jason Schmidt as a possible bust. You can't just drop 8 MPH
The Sporting News: shortly after mauer
Creative Sports: I second DeRosa. He was a .245 hitter until last year.
Big Dawg Baseball: McCann has to be a top 3 catcher and possibly the top one overall
Rotopass: Shall I be the first to acro? TNSTAAPP.
Talented Mr. Roto: How about Frank Thomas as a drop off candidate... health, plus a lack of chip on the shoulder
Sportsblurb: But the possibility is still there. Giving up on them for no reason makes no sense. Did they really need Jason Jennings?
Rotopass: Frank Thomas has been consistent for three years straight.
Baseball HQ: I would say McCann is the a top 3 catcher as well and should go within the first 4-6 rounds
Creative Sports: Thomas' foot is always a concern.
Sportsblurb: Will he be significantly better than Hirsh would have been?
Rotowire: Juan Pierre for five years and $45 mil was pretty damn dumb
Mock Draft Central: Piazza 2007 = Frank Thomas 2006
-COMMISH-: Viewer question from AIM: What are you thoughts about drafting a pitcher in the first round?
Rotopass: If he plays 130 games, you know what you'll get.
Sportsblurb: Pitcher first round? If not Johan, there should be none
Big Dawg Baseball: Thomas will be fine as long as he can stay healthy - a big variable
The Sporting News: only if its johan
Mock Draft Central: Santana, that's the only one
Rotopass: Viewer: Unless his name is Johan Santana, it's suicide.
Baseball Notebook: Ask us in ten minutes. LOL
Creative Sports: Santana or nothing.
The Sporting News: yeah, i was planning on taking my closer in the first ---
Sportsblurb: Shoot, I might have the Johan pick
Big Dawg Baseball: SAN-TAN-A!
Sportsblurb: Doggie, take him
Talented Mr. Roto: Matsuzaka in the first round... if it's a Japanese Roto League... he could be back
Big Dawg Baseball: 90% sure that dead doesn't get done
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: When do you think the bulk of quality starters will be taken?
Rotopass: See, now letting Johan Santana go, that could be an argument for the Astros being the dumbest team on the planet.
-COMMISH-: Welcome to Ryan Dodson of KFFL
Rotopass: Opening a spot for Hunter Pence while getting a starter that can help you win this year, while giving up only "potential" does not qualify.
Mock Draft Central: Rounds 3-5 will be full of 1st tier starters
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: How far do those coming back from injuries fall? (Sheff. and Matsui)
Mock Draft Central: Just a reminder - eligibility is based on 20 games played
Sportsblurb: They had deeper needs than a middle of the rotation starter
Big Dawg Baseball: Howard second?
Baseball Notebook: Here comes my answer to the pitcher question.
Sportsblurb: I'm with Doggie
Big Dawg Baseball: Reyes fell to me at 6th?
Sportsblurb: TSN is Rob, right?
Mock Draft Central: thanks Todd for helping me choose
The Sporting News: yep
Sportsblurb: Sorry for ripping your Howard pick in the mag. :-)
-COMMISH-: From AIM: y did utley go fourth
Rotowire: Crawford at 9? Nice!
Talented Mr. Roto: I took Utley at 4 because there isn't another 2B, in my opinion, in the same realm as him. Every other position has a first tier except SP, so I went with scarcity
The Sporting News: umm, didn't you want THAT Houston OFEr
KFFL: an early Holliday season is here
Mock Draft Central: had to buy early
Big Dawg Baseball: that was poor
Sportsblurb: This is killing me
Sportsblurb: If Todd does not take Hafner, I want him so bad now... :-)
-COMMISH-: Via AIM: To Mr. Roto: Could you speak a bit about Utley over Reyes/Crawford?
Talented Mr. Roto: As I wrote... 2b and SP are the only two positions with a single player at the "top tier" level in my opinion, so while he was a reach by two or three picks, there wasn't anothe 2B I wanted half as much
Sportsblurb: I will hate myself in the morning for that pick
The Sporting News: WOW
Mock Draft Central: you'll want to take a shower after that one :)
Sportsblurb: I feel like I need the morning after pill now or something
-COMMISH-: Via AIM for Shawn Peters: Mr. Roto: Thanks. So you rank position scarcity over stat scarcity (SBs)?
Rotopass: Let's play a fun game: Let Pronk Drop To The End Of The Third Round
Sportsblurb: I totally would have taken him
-COMMISH-: VIa AIM: to sports blurb: a nice pick with Mauer at #18, with 2 c a must have in Mauer
Talented Mr. Roto: depends on situation... but when I was ranking out 2B's, I was shocked at the disaprity
Sportsblurb: I still feel like a cheap whore
KFFL: thanks!
The Sporting News: speaking of 2 C, I HATE that setup
Rotopass: And there's them SB's, eh Shawn?
The Sporting News: much prefer either 1 C and another Util or a C/DH-only spot
Sportsblurb: It's why Mauer went here for me, Rob, instead of RD III like in the TSN mock
The Sporting News: for the second C
Rotopass: 1 C is for the birds.
Talented Mr. Roto: yes, pete, there they are... as well as 700 plate appearances worth of Hiiiiiiiigh average
The Sporting News: yeah, i dont like 1 C either
Sportsblurb: We have viewers? Do I need to be PG now?
The Sporting News: which is why I like the C/DH-only option
Sportsblurb: Rated R Haverty is funnier.
The Sporting News: also keeps guys like Pronk from dropping so much
Sportsblurb: Manny hurts there - it was Manny or Mauer, KFFL
-COMMISH-: Question from e-mail: I am curious why Soriano wasn't a top 3-4 pick.... does his BA diminish his value or are there other factors for 40/40?
Sportsblurb: Sorianohas only had one year where he was really that elite - those top four picks should be, and have to be, safe
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: Is carlos lee really a hihgh 2nd rounder or is he over priced?
Mock Draft Central: if he had 2B eligibility, he'd be #1 overall
Mock Draft Central: soriano that is
Rotopass: Lee is a fantastic fantasy option this year.
Sportsblurb: Which is also why, no offence, I hate seeing Howard go that high in drafts - I love him for this year, but he is not as proven as guys like Ortiz
Big Dawg Baseball: Soriano was playing for a contract last year - inflated his numbers. Remember Javy Lopez with Atlanta?
Mock Draft Central: Lee put up nice average and SB and power, but did it quietly
Rotopass: His inflated "real" contract's value six years down the road does not affect his value this year.
-COMMISH-: Question from AIm: Why did Hafner go so low? No SBs?
Mock Draft Central: DH only + no SB
Sportsblurb: Because Haverty had DH filled
Rotopass: Hey, Shawn... you know there's no trading in a Mock, right/ What you doin' with all those SB's?
Talented Mr. Roto: Scarcity, scarcity, scarcity... plus I'm trying to build readership in Philly
Sportsblurb: They can't read in Philly
The Sporting News: nice one mark
Sportsblurb: Someone please supply my email for the hate mail
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: Rollins before hanley ? GP in cincinnati
Big Dawg Baseball: I live in Philly dumbass
Talented Mr. Roto: But you're right, pete. As TMR's trade columnist, I'm building a mock team that I can make deals with... after all, we gotta do soemthing for three and half months before openign day
The Sporting News: further proof
Big Dawg Baseball: ouch
Sportsblurb: Hanley is very unproven, and had a month below the Mendoza Line - still risky
Talented Mr. Roto: GP... there was something magical about what Hanley did last year... I don't believe in magic... at least not two years in a row.
Baseball HQ: Rollins is a proven vet that is in his prime versus Ramirez who has only done it one year. I like Rollins as the #2 SS this year.
Mock Draft Central: I personally am leery of a drop off from Ramirez
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: Y did Miguel Tahada fall so deep into the draft???
Talented Mr. Roto: Plus, as a Sox fan, it hurts too much
FantasyBaseball.com: people looking for spped rom MI and tejada does not give it
Baseball HQ: although he's not a bad value at this point
Sportsblurb: There, he's off the board.
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: how many leagues, on average, is everyone in? Do you mix it up with AL/NL only, H2H, points, etc.?
Sportsblurb: 8 last year, which was moronic - 3-4 this year.
Rotopass: I try to be in six, at least one each of AL, NL monoleagues, 1 H2H points.
Sportsblurb: Oops - already in 2007 writing mode. That was 8 in 2006.
Big Dawg Baseball: 4 last year
Mock Draft Central: I try to stay under 6. I have a dynasty league, couple expert leagues, and one local league
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: : Is Brandon Webb a fantasy ace?
Big Dawg Baseball: yes
Mock Draft Central: I always do at least one NL only
Talented Mr. Roto: yessir
Sportsblurb: No Boston Legal tonight, no new Veronica Mars - this is a rough night...
FantasyBaseball.com: Webb is my second pitcher off the board
Big Dawg Baseball: he's my fifth
FantasyBaseball.com: you're wrong
Baseball HQ: my fifth as well
Sportsblurb: I need a fifth
Big Dawg Baseball: ha!
FantasyBaseball.com: you're bioth wrong
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: Why did Furcal and Roberts go so high?
Baseball HQ: probably
FantasyBaseball.com: SB
Big Dawg Baseball: ?
Talented Mr. Roto: I guess he's not making it back to me, then, eh?
Baseball HQ: speed and scarcity
Mock Draft Central: Roberts has nice hair...
FantasyBaseball.com: also knocjked 10 out
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: What is your opinion about more stats? Instead of 5x5, say, 7x7?
Baseball HQ: I like to get my speed from a scarce position if possible and from reliable sources.
Sportsblurb: No love for Desmond DeChone?
Mock Draft Central: I love 5x5 - easy to keep track of, but I MUCH prefer OBP vs AVG
FantasyBaseball.com: depends on the extra cats -- are they redundant? a crapshoot to project?
Rotopass: Extra stats are great if you're planning to pay attention.
-COMMISH-: Question from e-mail: In mocks we've done here people have blasted those of us who took Zambrano high (usually the 4th like here) - please help us explain why this is good pick! Maddog281
The Sporting News: i would have taken chone, but he actually led to me finishing 2nd sted of 1st in 1 league last year
Sportsblurb: OBP much better than AVG - makes the Astros outfield last year look even worse.
The Sporting News: his average KILLED me
Rotopass: I like high-K, low WHIP pitchers. It's part of an overall pitching strategy.
Creative Sports: Zambrano has alot of miles on that young arm.
Mock Draft Central: Zambrano is a workhorse. Lots of innings and K's. Should get run support this year. Whip is the downside
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: Speaking of extra stats, what do you propose for that 6th or 7th pitching cat?
Rotopass: Plus, no more Dusty means less 130 pitch starts
Talented Mr. Roto: First MRI reference of the night, Pter
Mock Draft Central: hit batsmen
FantasyBaseball.com: but he's past thge danger point in terms of age, thatis he has showed he can handle it
Rotopass: that then give him those nasty ERA bloating starts the next game.
Mock Draft Central: nice pick on Lopez
-COMMISH-: From AIM: Is Juan Pierre a safe pick in '07?
Mock Draft Central: not in my book
Sportsblurb: Not if you are using OBP
FantasyBaseball.com: not for HR
KFFL: In that lineup, I think it's a decent bet
Talented Mr. Roto: in 4x4... maybe
FantasyBaseball.com: but yes,
Big Dawg Baseball: Sure. Why not?
-COMMISH-: From e-mail: What position in your opinion is the thinnest in 07?
Rotowire: 2B
Big Dawg Baseball: 2B
KFFL: Catcher
-COMMISH-: From AIM: I don't draft a closer until the 9th or 10th round. Is that a good strategy?
FantasyBaseball.com: yes
Sportsblurb: Even that might be too high. Closers are a crapshoot.
Mock Draft Central: extra pitching categories is tough. Holds, Walks, are a couple options. Opposing BA, but that is redundant with WHIP + ERA
Talented Mr. Roto: I can't quit Jake
-COMMISH-: Comment from AIM: I would argue that with 5 OF, it is the most shallow. GP in cincinnati
FantasyBaseball.com: holds blow donkey dung
Mock Draft Central: I will take a top 3 closer in the mid rounds, if available, otherwise I go with the clearance rack approach
-COMMISH-: Question for Ryan Dodson from KFFL via AIM: KFFL: Catcher is thin? Maybe with starting 2 Cs, but the 8-10 Cs on this list are Hernandez/Martin/Barrett.
Rotopass: 5 OF, but 3 per team.
Sportsblurb: I agree with T-Ziddy re: holds
Baseball Notebook: I'd say catcher
Rotopass: 60th best OF is better than 18th best 2B
KFFL: There's a huge dropoff from good to serviceable
-COMMISH-: From the Mock Draft Central forum: Do you experts ever mock auction draft? It is the only way people should draft; snake drafts are too much based on luck, where auction drafts are all skill.
KFFL: There's a lot of young guys at 2B that could pan out.
KFFL: SS is rather thin lately
Rotopass: Love the auction.
Big Dawg Baseball: I did it once. Interesting.
Rotopass: Been doing it for 12 years.
Mock Draft Central: I always do one auction per year. I've seen them go both ways.
Big Dawg Baseball: That was mock auction drafting, not pot
-COMMISH-: From e-mail: How many closers do you really need and what rounds should you start targeting one?
Talented Mr. Roto: Once you go auction, you never go back
Rotopass: Hate Big Dawg for taking Delgado.
Baseball HQ: me too
Baseball HQ: he was mine
KFFL: 3 closers is a safe bet, and you need at least one in the top 10 rounds
Rotopass: I'd have bid him up a buck, I'll tell you that.
Mock Draft Central: If a couple guys spend too much too early, you can end up with half a dozen allstar teams
Rotopass: I'd have hated you more, then.
-COMMISH-: Comment for Ryan Dodson from KFFL: You guys represent well on Bob Hanie's show (1570 WNST) in Baltimore.
KFFL: Thank you
-COMMISH-: From AIM: Dye, Giambi, Delgado...will they go too high?
Rotowire: ah... not going that way though
The Sporting News: darn you mark
Rotopass: Delgado goes too low, IMH.
-COMMISH-: From AIM for Ryan Dodson of KFFL: KFFL: SS is thin too? Seriously? Are you sure you're not looking at 2004 stats?
FantasyBaseball.com: back to the auction v draft --- I was weaned on aaauctions, still prefer them, but there is moe skill to drafts than some aaaauction snobs want to admit
Big Dawg Baseball: maybe, but I needed a 1B
Mock Draft Central: I can't drink during an auction -- that's a long time without a beer!
FantasyBaseball.com: damn, piece of food stuck under my aaaa key
KFFL: touche
Sportsblurb: Happy Chanakuh, by the way
Talented Mr. Roto: three more nights
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: Adam Dunn only gives you HR? Why take him so low? He will drag your AVG down...
FantasyBaseball.com: I need HR and have batting average buffered with Atkins, Lee and Jeter
Mock Draft Central: I avoid Dunn like I avoid waitresses with visible sores
FantasyBaseball.com: Dunn can hit anywhere from .230 to .270
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: Uggla...bust?
Rotopass: Hell's no.
KFFL: soph slump; but not a complete bust
Mock Draft Central: Good mid round gamble
Sportsblurb: Best year ever for Uggla was bigs - does not mean he cannot repeat, but scary
Rotopass: Uggla = player who got opportunity.
Sportsblurb: Still love the guy
Talented Mr. Roto: Pete has Dan Uggla living in his basement during the off season
Rotopass: And better fantasy player than "real" player.
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: Sleepers always go much sooner than normal in mocks - how much do we discount this when reviewing this draft?
Rotopass: Had Uggla at $12 in NL Only on draft day.
Rotopass: Best source for sleepers is MDC ADP.
Mock Draft Central: I got Uggs for $8 or $9 in Tout NL
Rotopass: Take guys you really want 1 round before their ADP.
Talented Mr. Roto: Big Dawg just saved me from myself
-COMMISH-: Questions from AIM: Matt Holliday, sure shot first rounder?
Big Dawg Baseball: Sheets in the 6th round. Nice
FantasyBaseball.com: before their ADP? then you finish in 6th place
Mock Draft Central: I disagree - sleepers that get some pub, always go earlier in real drafts. People are afraid of missing out and want to be able to -look smart- to leaguemates
Rotopass: 12th round ADP, take in 11th.
Sportsblurb: Dawg, no one has a bigger mad-on for Sheets than me, so thank you. :-)
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: Sheets...safe?
Big Dawg Baseball: Not a sure shot, but worthy of a 1st round pick
FantasyBaseball.com: that's bass ackwards
Rotopass: I'm not talking about reaching for a fourth rounder in the third.
FantasyBaseball.com: you look for guys you like better than the ADP
Big Dawg Baseball: Sheets may not be safe, but if healthy, he's worth a second
-COMMISH-: Question from e-mail: Which is better - Harang or Arroyo at Cin?
Baseball HQ: Sheets is never a sure thing but thats where you speculate
Creative Sports: If Sheets is healthy he is a stud.
Mock Draft Central: I can see Holliday slipping to mid-2nd. lots of interchangeable OF talent early
Sportsblurb: Harang, easy, although I have not heard his band live.
FantasyBaseball.com: Harang much better
The Sporting News: sheets 39 starts the past 2 years
Rotopass: Remember, the key word in ADP is... AVERAGE.
The Sporting News: 1 year away from being prior/wood
The Sporting News: (yes, im just jealous)
Mock Draft Central: noooo, not Chipper
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: Why would anyone want Sexson or Swisher?
FantasyBaseball.com: all depends on where
Mock Draft Central: they just read Moneyball
Mock Draft Central: desperate for HR
Rotopass: Because the only other alternative is Mark Sweeney?
-COMMISH-: Question for Jason Pliml of Mock Draft Central via e-mail: Why the reach for B-Rob with Lugo, Phillips, Weeks still around much later?
The Sporting News: points league
FantasyBaseball.com: I'll hand;e that Jason --cause BRob is better than those guys
Mock Draft Central: I have a knack for getting good infield value late. Like to lock in sure things at starter
Rotowire: time to reach here
-COMMISH-: Question from e-mail: In your opinion, who are the 3 most solid bets at closer in 07, and who would your sleeper closer be?
Rotopass: Sleeper: Rafael Soriano.
Rotopass: 3 best best: Nathan, K-Rod,
Sportsblurb: I love Seth McClung, but he is less sleepy having done it in Sept.
Sportsblurb: And, yes, I am ill
Rotopass: Well, there's only 2 for me.
Mock Draft Central: I'd argue that Dempster could be a sleeper this year. No more risky than a middle reliever that *could* close
Big Dawg Baseball: he got a vote of confidence today from John Henry
The Sporting News: dempster sucks
Talented Mr. Roto: time to put all that built up BA to good use
The Sporting News: watch out for wood
Mock Draft Central: sucks like a fox...
-COMMISH-: Comment from AIM: I can't believe Arroyo is lasting this long, GP in cincinnati
Talented Mr. Roto: Gagne was given a lot of money not to do something
Mock Draft Central: Wood can't pitch back to back days
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: Glaus? Why?
Talented Mr. Roto: No rpoblem Pete... I'll mock trade him to you
-COMMISH-: Comment from AIm: Isn't the 7th round too early to pick hitters that only give you one category?
The Sporting News: dempster can't pitch back to back days well
The Sporting News: what's the diff
The Sporting News: he can pitch back-to-back sucky games]
Rotopass: Troy Glaus, by the way, wouldn't surprise me if he played 5 at SS again thiss year.
Rotopass: Jays are thin at SS
KFFL: Saito eh
Talented Mr. Roto: Glaus hit more homers than any other 3B, and in a pinch, picks up SS eligibility (he played 8 games there last year)
Talented Mr. Roto: Once again, Mock drafting like there'd really be a season
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: Why do closers go before quality startes?
Rotopass: 30 closers
Mock Draft Central: only one guy gets saves per team
Mock Draft Central: typically
Rotopass: 150 starters
Big Dawg Baseball: value (saves)
FantasyBaseball.com: number of contributing categories is irrelevant -- total value is relevant -- you have 14 spots to attain balance
KFFL: wow
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: Wow - no King Felix questions yet! Any predictions? Can anyone win 12+ for that offense?
Rotopass: Wow for Delmon?
Talented Mr. Roto: Pete... you're nothing if not consistent... Delmon
Rotopass: 25/25 in the 8th, I'll take that.
-COMMISH-: Comment from AIM: D Haren is a great pick in the 8th... GP in cincinnati
Rotopass: Plus, I'm bookends. I had to take him now, or see him go in the 9th.
KFFL: agreed
-COMMISH-: Question from e-mail: It's Tuesday night, and the dealing to sign D-Mat is Thursday. If your "real" draft was tonight, do you spend a mid-round pick? How high do you go to get D-Mat? (Oriole Tragic in Balto.)
FantasyBaseball.com: I would have taken Haren there
Sportsblurb: 25-25 rookie? you took Gordon?
FantasyBaseball.com: deadline is really tomorrow morning
Rotopass: I need more RBIs than the 70 Gordo will get in KC
Rotopass: TB is busting out this year.
-COMMISH-: Question from AIm: im a little late but can some of you please explain how Mauer is a 2nd round pick? I just dont see it.
Baseball HQ: I like Haren alot and didnt want to wait and see if he made it back to me
FantasyBaseball.com: he's not
Rotowire: I believe them when they said that they won't start Gordon in the majors out of spring training
Sportsblurb: Mauer: two catchers, and he had the best batting average in the AL
Rotopass: Giambi, great pick there, Mark.
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: Harrang before Arroyo, Why? if i might ask?
Rotowire: strikeouts
FantasyBaseball.com: Mauer can have the exact sane year in terms of skills and not hit .300
FantasyBaseball.com: because Harang is better than Arroyo
Sportsblurb: Thanks Pete, on Giambi
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: Saito before a lot of more established closers??
The Sporting News: gotta love them ks
Mock Draft Central: you stole Iguchi from me Chris
Baseball HQ: Arroyo is not even in my top 20 SP's
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: When does the first Royal player go (if ever)?
Sportsblurb: Saito had more saves last year than in 11 years in Japan - I thought it was risky
Sportsblurb: There are good Royals this year
Rotopass: When 3B gets so shallow that Alex Gordon gets drafted.
Sportsblurb: Not many, but there are
Baseball Notebook: I thought about taking Saito too - just risky pick despite t he potential payoff
Creative Sports: We might go through the whole draft without a Royal
Rotopass: Or someone gets desperate for a third closer and takes Dotel.
Rotopass: Whichever comes first.
Sportsblurb: Mark Teahen had an awesome second half - if I was not filled at 3B/CI/DH, I would be looking for him
-COMMISH-: Question for Chris McDonnell of Big Dawg Baseball: Big Dawg, is there a reason why you didn't take an OF yet?
Sportsblurb: Hey - no love for me?
Rotowire: dammit David
Sportsblurb: I have none either
Big Dawg Baseball: I like to stock my infield. That's also been where the value has been
FantasyBaseball.com: back to Arroyo -- facxed an extrememely favorable schedule, has not proven he can do it again, Harang still has some room to improve and he is already top 15
Big Dawg Baseball: OFs are more plentiful
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: no love for the d train?
-COMMISH-: Question for Mark Haverty of Sportsblurb: Sportsblurb, is there a reason why you haven't drafted an OF yet?
Mock Draft Central: Harden could be a real steal
Baseball HQ: or a killer
Rotowire: eh, the price was right
Sportsblurb: What the Dawg said - there are plenty still; it's not a need position
Rotowire: hard to be a killer in the 9th round
Baseball HQ: in the Sheets/Prior mode
Rotowire: he could be in that mode - but worth the risk to me then
Baseball HQ: yeah not a bad place to take a chance
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: Is Howard really worth a 2nd overall pick when you could have a proven Arod?
The Sporting News: i took howard second in our SN mock
Baseball HQ: yeah, worth a shot
Mock Draft Central: Arod slumped badly and could scare people
-COMMISH-: Question from e-mail: are Lugo's numbers 4 rounds worse than B-Rob?
The Sporting News: I believe ARod has peaked; others disagree
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: Why did C.C. go so low? I value you him as a top 7 starter.
Mock Draft Central: No, I think Lugo was a good value where he went
Rotowire: I'd love to draft fifth or sixth this year - I don't think there's a clear-cut guy anywhere from 2-6
The Sporting News: agreed
Baseball Notebook: Maybe it was year-end minor surgery.
Baseball HQ: Lugo will lose alot of SBO this year
FantasyBaseball.com: CC has never been a top-7 starter
Baseball Notebook: I was still g lad to get him.
The Sporting News: soriano and reyes both were available there
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: in a league that has hitting k's and bb, does that change the first round at all?
Rotowire: Sabathia was my pick before Harden
Mock Draft Central: Certainly affects Soriano's draft spot, if you consider k's
Rotopass: Wow... Markakis...
KFFL: indeed
Rotopass: I'll consider that the first surprise of the draft.
Sportsblurb: The Tigers fans'll love me
The Sporting News: mark, thanks for taking justin
-COMMISH-: Question for Mark Haverty via AIM: Sportsblurb: Counting on Tejada and Papi to carry your power?
The Sporting News: saves me from doing it
Sportsblurb: Giambi?
Sportsblurb: Uggla?
Sportsblurb: I have other guys that can hit them
Sportsblurb: Remember, Giambi is back on the needle
-COMMISH-: Comment/Question from AIM: I think it's a myth that OF is deep. Look at what's left in your pool right now. Some value, but mostly one-dimensionaly guys like Pods/Taveras and Swisher/Burrell. Don't you normally recommend taking a couple of OFs early?
Big Dawg Baseball: I may have taken Markakis a bit early, but I'm a big supporter of his this year
Talented Mr. Roto: You can get away with a few multi-cat OF's and then fill them out with category needs later
Talented Mr. Roto: can't say that about other positions
Sportsblurb: I would strongly disagre on the OF question, with three that I just preranked
Baseball HQ: I hate big sexy but 10th round just felt right
Baseball HQ: as wrong as it may have been
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: when doing your leagues how much $$ do you play for ?
Talented Mr. Roto: Sportsblurb, making his point
FantasyBaseball.com: all of it
Talented Mr. Roto: nice on MAgs
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: When do you draft for favorite young player? Say, Carlos Quentin or Delmon Young?
Rotopass: DELMON.
Rotopass: I'm sorry, was that out loud?
Talented Mr. Roto: yes... put it back in your rotopants
Rotowire: I'll take "mental images I can't take back for $1,000" Alex
Mock Draft Central: I tend to play for $1000 or less. We run drafts for many high stakes games, so I'm barred from participating
Mock Draft Central: good value on Renteria
Talented Mr. Roto: My "delmon"
KFFL: Yeah i agree, just move Lugo to 2B
-COMMISH-: Comment from AIM: All I'm saying is, I'd rather have a guy like Joe Crede or Big Hurt or Nick Johnson or Rentaria right now than the guys left in the OF pool, and they're ALL still available.
FantasyBaseball.com: quite a few decent OF left though
Big Dawg Baseball: Hawpe?
Mock Draft Central: Had Hawpe near the top of my queue
FantasyBaseball.com: but OF is not as deep as normal, noticed that in the mock for the Fantasy Sports Guide
Talented Mr. Roto: Coles... one of four pitchers with over 100 K's after the All-Star Break
FantasyBaseball.com: also less players with multiple eligibility than in past years
Rotowire: Hamels was high on my queue
Talented Mr. Roto: Everyone has their sweet tooth
Rotopass: OF may not be that deep on draft DAY, but it's the easiest position to fill from the waiver/FAAB process.
The Sporting News: well bedard was high on mine
Rotowire: :-)
Mock Draft Central: Tracy's a nice pickup there
The Sporting News: even if he does play for a team that throws money around like ... well, walker and willaimson
Rotowire: ... and Baez!
Rotowire: 3-yr, $19M???
Talented Mr. Roto: reaching...
Rotowire: Roughly 10 rounds per hour - not bad
Sportsblurb: Geoff should be shortening the clock every round to screw it people
Talented Mr. Roto: IT got quiet in here.... too quiet
Rotopass: AJ before Jorge.... I never thought I'd see the day.
Rotopass: Nice pick on Kinsler, Pliml.
FantasyBaseball.com: health and prefer the extra BA is why
Mock Draft Central: thx
Rotopass: Did Schmidtd's deal with LA fall though, or is the list just a bit out of date?
-COMMISH-: Missed that one
Rotopass: Love Schmidt in LA.
Sportsblurb: Love him like, "He rocks in LA," or love as in not welcome at Todd Jones' house love?
Rotopass: No... the love that dare not speak its name is reserved for Delmon Young.
Rotopass: Schmidt's like... man, I love pepperoni and roasted red pepper calzones.
Sportsblurb: Nice Cap pick, HQ
Baseball HQ: thanks
-COMMISH-: Yay! A questopm from AIM: Why is Schmidt going so low? Is it just because this thing has him ranked so low? 12th round seems like a steal to me. Dodgers have a decent offense/pen and it's a great pitcher's park. Couldn't he be a top 10 guy?
Rotopass: He "COULD" but it' s not likely.
Rotowire: first, I agree it's a great value - I think he also fell due to concerns about the drop in his velocity, and past shoulder injuries
Mock Draft Central: Like I said earlier, you don't just drop 8 MPH and be good as old
FantasyBaseball.com: lost 4-5mph, has not proven he can "pitch"
Rotopass: Schmidt's a guy whose draft day value is being redefined this year; former stud, now "upside" pick due to the injury and loss of velocity.
Mock Draft Central: I meant 8kph :)
FantasyBaseball.com: came froma great park too so thats a wash
FantasyBaseball.com: though this OF doesn't need wheelchairs
Rotopass: Less wind, too.
Sportsblurb: Nice use of Metric, Jason. I had to figure it out going to Expos' games....
Mock Draft Central: won't they let you into real stadiums?
Sportsblurb: No more Expos, back to my ugly american way of thinking kilo=drugs
Sportsblurb: And they do, but Stade Olympique is 90 miles from my house
Big Dawg Baseball: Earlier in the draft, a viewer asked why I hadn't taken any OFs. I picked up studs in the infield and now have Cuddyer, Ibanez, Markakis, and Byrnes in the OF. You can wait.
-COMMISH-: Agreed. Nice job Chris.
The Sporting News: besides, you should have an easy time finding FAs to replace Byrnes and Cuddyer when they struggle
The Sporting News: actually, i like mike (shame he doesnt qualify at 3b anymore)
Rotopass: Oh, SNAP
Sportsblurb: There is no more love for PODS, is there?
-COMMISH-: I have love for his wife
Rotopass: Will someone please put me out of my misery, and take Big Hurt already?
Sportsblurb: I cannot
Rotopass: Shawn... please. For me?
Talented Mr. Roto: I suggested he was a drop off candidate... can't be a hypocrite with the kids watching
Rotopass: It's the 13th round!
Sportsblurb: Kids use the net for porn and bomb making, not fantasy baseball
Rotowire: can't tell you how much it hurt to draft Pods... but I needed the bags
Rotopass: How much further do you want him to drop for a guy who'll hit 30 in 110 games?
Talented Mr. Roto: I don't know... will he hit 30 if he plays 49 games?
Rotopass: I swear, if Nomar goes before Thomas, I'm taking my WiFi and going home.
Talented Mr. Roto: I needed a non-injured (and apparently non-good) closer more than I needed bombs
Sportsblurb: Someone please take Nomar. :-P
Talented Mr. Roto: Seconded
The Sporting News: i like bush
Rotopass: I DARE you.
-COMMISH-: Comment for Chris McDonnell of Big Dawg Baseball via AIM: Big Dawg: Your IF is very good for sure, but my point is that SOMETHING really is left shorted out when you take too many high end 'shallow position guys' like Reyes (a stud for sure,) and McCann (ditto.) Right now you have one high ceiling massive injury risk starter and one middle of the pack closer (who could easily lose his job to Broxton,) comprising your entire staff through 12 rounds. That along with a mediocre OF doesn't get it done, in my opinion. You've had to use your 9-12 round picks filling up with serviceable OFs when those are the rounds to get great value on your pitching staff.
The Sporting News: and the pitcher too
Sportsblurb: Geoff and Jason, that "Now It's Your Turn!" guy - I love him
-COMMISH-: He's the highest paid member of the staff
-COMMISH-: He actually sits in a booth and says it live each time
Sportsblurb: Nice Bush pick, Dawg
Big Dawg Baseball: Actully, I'm drinking spanish wine
Big Dawg Baseball: I like Bush a lot too
Sportsblurb: Sick K/BB numbers - breakout year this year, I feel it
-COMMISH-: Spanish Wine and Bush is a good combo
Big Dawg Baseball: that didn't sound good
The Sporting News: dang
The Sporting News: a gonz
Mock Draft Central: I was surprised he slid to me. Could be a stud
Rotopass: And now, for a little move I like to call.. the Arizona Two-Step
The Sporting News: it's one of those times when you can't decide on a pick, but figure 1 of the guys will make it back
The Sporting News: neither gonz or laroche did
The Sporting News: damn wickman hate that guy
-COMMISH-: Comment/question from AIM: Nice Josh Johnson pick! Do you see him and Scott Olsen taking a step forward or back next year?
The Sporting News: i actuallly have johnson 19th in my rankings
The Sporting News: i'd call that a step forward
The Sporting News: i also like olsen, but wont discuss him too much until after he's taken
Rotowire: Nolasco - was that a gambit that he'd close?
Mock Draft Central: yes
Mock Draft Central: I figure either way, he provides value
Sportsblurb: Kevin Spacey was the best part of Superman Returns - overall disappointing movie, but he was great
Talented Mr. Roto: Picking possible closers at this point in the off-season is like picking a prom date in 5th grade
Talented Mr. Roto: I mean when you're in 5th grade too
Talented Mr. Roto: to be clear
-COMMISH-: Ha
Rotowire: speaking of interesting gambits...
Sportsblurb: Is Gagne hurt yet?
The Sporting News: hand cramped up while signing the contract
Talented Mr. Roto: He' straing something taking his physical
The Sporting News: and he had an "accident" during the physical
Talented Mr. Roto: FIne Pete!
The Sporting News: something about the turning his head, pulled a muscle
Rotowire: but he's been working out with Kerry Wood, so everything is ok!
-COMMISH-: Comment/Question from AIM: Barry Lamar Bonds in the 14th round, come on, he's good for 100 games right? GP
Rotowire: that's funny - Crisp was on my list
Rotopass: You won't regret it, Shawn.
Rotopass: Mock trade him to me with something nice for Thome, if you don't like it.
Big Dawg Baseball: Pat the no-Bat!
Talented Mr. Roto: I was taking crisp next too
Rotopass: He's good for exactly 22 HR.
Rotopass: No less, no more.
Mock Draft Central: I keep looking at the declining BA for Barry and wonder what this year will bring. Will he break the record and retire immediately?
Rotopass: Yup.
Big Dawg Baseball: Can he retire sooner?
Mock Draft Central: suddenly his knee will hurt too much
Rotopass: And then he'll un-retire in 2018 after Phat Albert has broken it.
Rotopass: And, for some reason, he won't look a day over 46.
Sportsblurb: I asked Frank Robinson about reactivativing himself when Barry passed him
Sportsblurb: He laughed, but I bet he was thinking about it
-COMMISH-: His head would be the size of a blimp by 2018
Rotopass: Yeah, can you imagine the OBP?
Rotopass: beanball... take your base!
Big Dawg Baseball: Too early on the big Q? I like him a lot this year.
Talented Mr. Roto: I considered him instead of Kearns
Big Dawg Baseball: There's no doubt he's ready for the bigs
FantasyBaseball.com: it denied me Hillenbrand
FantasyBaseball.com: and I have UT open
Rotowire: saving you from yourself
FantasyBaseball.com: could be
Talented Mr. Roto: Zito... in Rangerland... hmmmm
Talented Mr. Roto: Pete... you stole my Wainright
Rotopass: 16th round. I'll take it. I've got the SP horses.
The Sporting News: had a feeling wainwright wouldnt make it back
Talented Mr. Roto: And sank my Battleship
Rotopass: My SP cup runneth over.... and proves once again that you can wait on pitching.
Talented Mr. Roto: 20/20 in the 16th round
Sportsblurb: wow - you guys have bernie williams behind two placeholders, a ticket vender, and a bagel guy in bed-stuy
Big Dawg Baseball: Nice value on Cameron
The Sporting News: funny, too, b/c I ALWAYS refuse to draft cameron
The Sporting News: but i couldnt keep passing
Big Dawg Baseball: He's not fun to own, but he's good value at this spot
Rotopass: You're just a 2-for-40 streak from remembering why.
Talented Mr. Roto: YEah... you'll be tempted to Mock Waive him
The Sporting News: yep, or was it all those damn solo HRs
Rotopass: Or just mock him.
The Sporting News: can't he ever bat with guys on base?
Mock Draft Central: it's against his religion
Big Dawg Baseball: there. I took Nomar
Talented Mr. Roto: Mr. Hamm!
Rotopass: Sure he can. He just can't hit.
Big Dawg Baseball: How do you like me now?
Rotopass: That's fine, Big Dawg... Thomas is nice and safely owned.
Talented Mr. Roto: Pete keeps his Wifi on
Talented Mr. Roto: I know it was a fluke, but in late round 16, it's not like I'm buying the one year hype too much
Sportsblurb: But isn't it Canadian WiFi?
Talented Mr. Roto: CanuckFi
FantasyBaseball.com: WiFieh
Rotopass: Hey, it's on the Rogers network.
Rotopass: I'm helping to pay Frank Thomas' salary as we speak.
Sportsblurb: There I hockey game I should be watching instead of Superman Returns?
Sportsblurb: a hockey game, I meant
Rotopass: bye, Howie...
-COMMISH-: What's hockey?
Baseball HQ: nice pick with Willy
Rotowire: ty - fits what I need
Rotopass: Vile fiends... stop raiding my queue!
Sportsblurb: comcast might actually figure that out
Baseball HQ: I like Kendrick there too
Rotowire: I had Kendrick queued up for about six rounds, but kept trying to restrain myself from pulling the trigger too soon
Baseball HQ: I was doing the same
Rotowire: I often contract cases of young-player-itis
Baseball HQ: me too
Mock Draft Central: funny. I have been staring at Durham for about 4 rounds saying wait, wait, wait...
Baseball HQ: risk averse
Rotopass: And... that's why you draft the "sleepers" you really want 1 round before their ADP.
Mock Draft Central: exactly
Baseball HQ: I guess so
Rotopass: GORDO! Nooooooo
Sportsblurb: There
Talented Mr. Roto: The key is when you say "sleepers" you mean the one or two you really want... not the seven or eight
Sportsblurb: Comments have been slow coming
Baseball HQ: wow all my picks are leaving the building
Talented Mr. Roto: Half my list just disappeared
Rotowire: same here - have to reload
Rotowire: but that's the nature of the biz - there are no sleepers here
Rotopass: Yeah... those damn web sites have ruined sleepers for everyone. Let's all hate them.
Rotopass: "Upton" is for "Upside!"
Talented Mr. Roto: So philisophical question
Talented Mr. Roto: Is this a "keeper" mock draft?
Rotopass: And "Soriano" is for "Bob Wickman Sucks!"
Rotowire: really like Ensberg there
Big Dawg Baseball: What if dog was spelled C-A-T?
Rotowire: would like him better if HOU would fire idiot Phil Garner
FantasyBaseball.com: Jeff--I'm likelyheading your way for the west coast FPF in March -- taking the week in between to sight see on the way to NFBC/Vega
Rotowire: sweet
Rotopass: What if dog were spelled D-A-W-G... . it be Big Dog Baseball?
Rotowire: i just confirmed with Ron
Big Dawg Baseball: that site name was taken
Rotopass: Yes, but... would it have been?
Big Dawg Baseball: no, since college, I've been the Big Dawg
-COMMISH-: I can't believe people quit watching the 18'th round of a fantasy baseball draft in December
Rotopass: Yes, but would you have been?
Sportsblurb: there's a draft going on?
Sportsblurb: oh, i guess so
Talented Mr. Roto: Only barely
Sportsblurb: someguy just told me it's my turn
Sportsblurb: and this is the year he stays healthy
Big Dawg Baseball: not at his age
Rotowire: no, that was *last* year
Rotopass: It's 1997 again?
FantasyBaseball.com: you guys really want commentary? I'll play the part of teh audience
FantasyBaseball.com: "You gusy suck, 'so called experts' my ass"
FantasyBaseball.com: "I wish you were all in my home league"
Big Dawg Baseball: Nice . . .
Mock Draft Central: ok, now do your bitter housewife impression...
Talented Mr. Roto: I can feel it... this the year Wang gets 100 K's
Sportsblurb: that's not pretty
Big Dawg Baseball: Oooooo, I have one of those. Can I play?
Sportsblurb: please dont
Sportsblurb: you can, dawg
Talented Mr. Roto: Wait a minute... isn't it like, four months before basbeall season starts?
Talented Mr. Roto: BONDS!
Big Dawg Baseball: Why did you put the glass in the wrong place in the dishwasher? You did that on purpose just to make me upset!
Sportsblurb: baseball season never ends
The Sporting News: i was just thinking it's about times for bonds to go
The Sporting News: actually, well past time
Rotopass: I was thinking the same thing. But in a more general sense.
Rotopass: CG.. nice.
FantasyBaseball.com: amazing how much shallower this is that the 15-team NFBC style
Rotopass: Monoleagues. That's where the fun's at.
Talented Mr. Roto: Don't get me angry... you wouldn't like me when I'm angry
Creative Sports: I don't like him, but he'll hit.
Talented Mr. Roto: yeah... angry man hit white ball very far
Rotowire: Ok NatX
Rotopass: I Haaaaates Hank.
Mock Draft Central: monoleagues. is that like strip solitaire?
Rotopass: No, it's just the way fantasy baseball used to be before it went all big-time...
Rotopass: Why, when I was your age....
Mock Draft Central: ah, the good old days
Sportsblurb: I could screw up a mono-league draft
Rotopass: We used to draft both way, uphill.
Talented Mr. Roto: Id someone uses the term "whippersnapper" I'm checking out
Big Dawg Baseball: whippersnapper
Rotopass: Damn, there goes "Can To".
Mock Draft Central: based on your last pick, I thought you already had checked out :)
Rotowire: pipe down wisenheimer
The Sporting News: cannot
Talented Mr. Roto: How the pockmacked have fallen
Sportsblurb: I'm waiting for Pete to spell offense with a c or some other cool canadianism
Big Dawg Baseball: me neither
Rotopass: I was ready to end my boycott against all Mexican players not named Loaiza.
The Sporting News: yeah, just hoping he sucks less this year
Big Dawg Baseball: nice value on Estrada
Baseball HQ: thanks
Rotopass: Four rounds to go and only one player in my queue, ey...
Rotowire: yeah, I just had to reload with some really sketchy characters
-COMMISH-: Erubiel Durazo is still available
Big Dawg Baseball: well that's good to know
Big Dawg Baseball: I'll sleep better
Rotowire: Bruce Berenyi is somehow 3rd in my queue
Rotowire: dammit, back-to-back picks gone
Rotopass: Please. I'm looking at Kaz Matsui and hoping none of you remember he's a Rockie now...
Rotopass: oops.
Sportsblurb: Wow - Danny Graves is below a couple of dead people in the rankings
Rotowire: sublime value in Prior there
Baseball Notebook: Oh you so tempted us Rotopass
Baseball Notebook: How could we have forgotten about Kaz Matsui? LOL
FantasyBaseball.com: I'll trade Shea Hillenbrand for anyone's pick from here on out
KFFL: yeah, no risk at all there
Rotowire: there I go for making Berenyi references - that's it, next I'm drafting Fred Norman
Rotowire: maybe Jack Billingham
Big Dawg Baseball: I'm considering picking Valverde soon. I think he's got a good shot at winning his closer's job back. Any thoughts on my potential pick?
Sportsblurb: dotel is still there too
FantasyBaseball.com: Valverde pitches great between injuries
Rotowire: actually, I was thinking of valverde too
Big Dawg Baseball: One of the advantages of mock drafting, you can ask advice from your competition
Rotowire: in fact....
FantasyBaseball.com: ah JP, you didn't read the memo, I'm contractually obligated to get Cliff Lee
Rotowire: sorry BD
-COMMISH-: Did we forget to tell you Chris ... this is a 10 grand buy in league
FantasyBaseball.com: I don't think you could get this crew to come up with 10 grand total
Rotopass: It's okay, Shawn. Matthew won't mind picking up the tab for us.
Rotopass: 'Cause, you know, you can't mind what you don't know.
Talented Mr. Roto: riiiiight... TMR team meeting in Vegas this weekend then
Talented Mr. Roto: crap... was about ot take contreras... struggling
FantasyBaseball.com: I think the "now its your turn" guy: just laughed at my pick
Rotopass: No, that was me.
Rotopass: We're just a bit bitter at Lilly these days.
The Sporting News: nice burke pick -- i was thinking about him, but figured I'd be nice
Rotowire: I wanted Lilly and Wheeler - crap
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: Does Homer Bailey get a rotation spot coming out of spring with the Reds in 07? and if so, how effective is he? GP in cincinnati
Sportsblurb: You know, considering how rancid the offence (spelled that way for Pete) is in Houston, is there any reason they did not just say, "Throw in Helton"? The Rockies would have...
Rotopass: I think the reason is something like 10 millon a year through 2011.
Talented Mr. Roto: how much is that Canadian?
The Sporting News: $$$ what's that?
Rotopass: 11.5.
The Sporting News: the Cubs or Os woulda done it in a minute
Rotowire: Bailey - I think it'll be midseason at least, maybe later
Rotopass: The Cubs and Os are gonna finish fifth in their respective division.
Rotopass: And that's assuming the Cubs can beat the Pirates.
Talented Mr. Roto: Afraid of pitchers named Homer... or Tater... or Dong
The Sporting News: BTW, anyone else find it funny how nearly all of Boras' top remaining FAs are all in talks with TEX
KFFL: something wrong?
KFFL: ahh
Rotowire: wrt Bailey, I think arb-eligibility is a big issue
Rotopass: That's 'cause Boras knows "fat wallet, fatter brain" when he sees one.
Rotopass: Did you hear? He bought a new dog... she's a real beauty. He named her "Hicks"
Talented Mr. Roto: Why... did "Theo" crap on the Oriental rug?
Talented Mr. Roto: I can always blame it on the fact that he hadn't taken his physical yet
FantasyBaseball.com: FYI -- we're posting Rob Leibowitz, bidding starts at $51.11
Sportsblurb: I have a couple of bucks
The Sporting News: other than the move from LA to TEX and the health issues, I think he'll be ok
Rotopass: Anybody got predictions on "Placeholder?" I'm thinking of making him my C2....
The Sporting News: seriously
Talented Mr. Roto: If you can't take the once most dominant closer of all time in the 22nd round... when can you take him?
The Sporting News: exactly
Talented Mr. Roto: Placeholder batted 312 in the AFL
Rotowire: good night all! - Thanks GS for hosting and running this
-COMMISH-: I'd like to thank all of our experts for joining us tonight.
Mock Draft Central: Thanks for participating everyone
-COMMISH-: Comment from AIM: I think Garza will earn much more than a 23rd round pick, nice value....... GP
Talented Mr. Roto: I hate you Pete Becker
Talented Mr. Roto: And I hate the non-existant Gyronball too
Rotopass: It DOES exist, man! I saw it on YouTube, man!
Rotopass: If you can't believe the internet, man, what can you believe in?
Rotopass: P.S. Jenna Jameson panties for sale!
The Sporting News: ok, taking a major chance with my 2nd C
Sportsblurb: draft a dead guy
The Sporting News: but at this pt... really....
The Sporting News: he's just about...
Rotopass: Take Joey Gathright!
Baseball Notebook: Thank you very much for hosting this Geoff + Jason, etc... Good night all!
Rotopass: And Mr Irrelevant, from YOUR Toronto Blue Jays...
Rotopass: Anyone?
Talented Mr. Roto: gentlemen... a pleasure.
-COMMISH-: Thanks folks
KFFL: take care guys
Baseball HQ: thanks everyone good luck this year
Sportsblurb: thanks guys
The Sporting News: later
