Mock Draft Central: Hi Tim
Mock Draft Central: Hi Seth
-COMMISH-: Welcome to Tim Dierkes of Roto Authority
-COMMISH-: Welcome to Seth Trachtman of Roto Draft Kit
Roto Authority: hey!
-COMMISH-: Welcome to Jason Pliml of Mock Draft Central
Roto Draft Kit: hows it going
Mock Draft Central: going well. How are you guys doing?
Roto Draft Kit: pretty good
-COMMISH-: Welcome to all of our viewers
-COMMISH-: Welcome to Joe Ribando of Insider Baseball
Mock Draft Central: I'll throw out the first compliment. Nice pick on Pujols...
Insider Baseball: Hey guys
Mock Draft Central: Hi Joe
-COMMISH-: Welcome to Mike Kuchera of Fantasy Baseball Express
-COMMISH-: Welcome to Eric Hinz of FakeTeams.com
Roto Draft Kit: just to clarify we're only taking 3 OF's? is this correct?
Mock Draft Central: 3 starting OF's.
Fantasy Baseball Express: whats up gentlemen!
Mock Draft Central: You can draft up to 3 bench players and 1 starting DH
Mock Draft Central: DH/U
-COMMISH-: Welcome to Mike Inglett of Sport Fanatics
Sport Fanatics: Hi everyone
Mock Draft Central: Hey Mike
-COMMISH-: First question for our experts via AIM: is it even worth considering anyone but pujols with the number 1 overall pick?
Mock Draft Central: Not unless you have some unique scoring rule in your league
Mock Draft Central: If you're in a points league that values SB or K too much
Sport Fanatics: I would agree most typical scoring leagues he is the #1 choice.
Roto Draft Kit: YES...I would definitely consider Soriano with the first pick (as I mentioned in the sporting news fantasy baseball owners manual, on newsstands now* :)
Fantasy Baseball Express: I think Soriano could be a nice pick at #1 if you can make up for his stinky average in the middle rounds!
Roto Draft Kit: piniella loves to run and wrigley is much smaller than rfk obviously
Roto Authority: could make a case for santana
Roto Authority: in many leagues
Roto Authority: normalish ones
Fantasy Baseball Express: I did an entire podcast on this very topic
-COMMISH-: Question from the Mock Draft Central Forum: Where would they draft Francisco Liriano in a keeper league, knowing that this year is obvioulsy a lost year?
-COMMISH-: Welcome to Keith Morton of The Fantasy Draft
Mock Draft Central: Liriano was truly dominant. True dominance is rare and worth the gamble, but it really depends on depth and reserve spots.
Fantasy Baseball Express: Late in the draft! Who knows if he'll even return to form...can you say hello Mark Prior or Kerry Wood!!
FakeTeams.com: Liriano should be taken before David Eckstein
The Fantasy Draft: Thanks. Nice to be here.
Roto Draft Kit: im skeptical of liriano's long-term health...i think hes going to be a wood/prior/sheets/harden type guy...he had some injuries as a minor leaguer...that said tommy john surgery should not eliminate his ability to be an elite pitchr
Mock Draft Central: Regarding Soriano, I fear a big salary slump
FakeTeams.com: When other teams begin to fill the back-end of their rotations with the likes of El Duque and Esteban Loiaza
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: Hey, where do you have Justin Morneau ranked in your 1B list?
Mock Draft Central: 4th
Sport Fanatics: With a pitcher late in the draft. If he was a hitter coming off an injury.
-COMMISH-: Welcome to Matt Hinzpeter from Fantasy Insider Online
FakeTeams.com: I have him 4th behind Albert, Howard and Berkman
Roto Draft Kit: 4th or 5th seems about right
Sport Fanatics: With a pitcher late in the draft. If he was a hitter coming off an injury, it would be sooner.
The Fantasy Draft: Same for me.
Mock Draft Central: behind Pujols, Berkman & howard
Sport Fanatics: 5th
Insider Baseball: 5th - I'm ranking Teixeira above him at this point
Roto Draft Kit: but i wouldnt feel much worse with the 10th best 1b as opposed to morneau...
Fantasy Insider Online: damn i thought it wasn't gonna work for me
-COMMISH-: Glad you made it Matt
Fantasy Insider Online: thanks man
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: I wanted to wait until he was picked in the draft, but I may not be around (sorry). There have been very big predictions for Rich Hill this winter. Predictions on where his average draft ranking will be, and if he'll live up to that?
The Fantasy Draft: BTW - Less than a month until pitchers and catchers. Anyone excited?
Roto Authority: 17th round
Roto Authority: worthy of much earlier imo
Mock Draft Central: Hill is getting a lot of hype. He has skills, but hasn't been consistent. I think by March he'll be overvalued
Roto Draft Kit: im always skeptical of young pitchers when they encounter mr. piniella...that said I really like him :)
Mock Draft Central: He's a guy that will have a very wide range for ADP
Fantasy Insider Online: so, readers are watching exactly what's going on right now?
Mock Draft Central: That's correct
Fantasy Insider Online: pretty crazy ha!
Mock Draft Central: They can post questions to Geoff who is acting as moderator
Fantasy Insider Online: sweet... what's the time between picks?
-COMMISH-: Comment from AIM: RDK - Pinella is better than Dusty!
The Fantasy Draft: 90 secs, I think.
Mock Draft Central: 90 sec
Fantasy Insider Online: alright... thanks
Insider Baseball: I'm curious to see the Soriano/Pinella dynamic this year... could get interesting
Fantasy Baseball Express: anyone multi tasking?? Expert draft, answering questions, and keeping an eye on American Idol
Roto Draft Kit: most grandmothers are better than dusty!
Mock Draft Central: does drinking a beer count as a task??
Fantasy Baseball Express: sure why not
Fantasy Insider Online: damn geoff, you gotta be all over the place
Mock Draft Central: then yes
Mock Draft Central: I'm like Windows 3.1
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: Who do they see as a rookie pitcher coming in and helping a lot of teams out this year?
Fantasy Insider Online: Hughes
Roto Authority: bailey
Roto Authority: garza
Fantasy Insider Online: what about that dude from milwaukee, Gallarado? you guys think he's gonna get the call in the second half?
Insider Baseball: Matsuzaka and Igawa (if you consider them rookies)
Roto Draft Kit: if the reds continue to sit on their hands homer bailey should make a big contribution
Roto Authority: well they have paul wilson
Roto Authority: so
Sport Fanatics: Matsuzaka and Garza.
Roto Authority: yeah
Sport Fanatics: 30 seconds, good luck!
The Fantasy Draft: Sorry for the big surprise
Mock Draft Central: I saw that coming Seth...
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: how do the experts view Matsuzaka this year?
Mock Draft Central: this league doesn't consider clutch playoff stats, does it
Mock Draft Central: ??
Roto Draft Kit: yeah i took soriano with the 4th pick in the tsn mock
Fantasy Insider Online: ha!
-COMMISH-: Comment from AIM: I can't believe Soriano is going ahead of A-Rod. No way he matches last year
The Fantasy Draft: I love Soriano.
Mock Draft Central: I think Matsuz will be big right away. Could get figured out in his second year, ala BK Kim
Fantasy Insider Online: yeah, i'm skeptical about soriano... better "hitters" park, but i don't know
Roto Draft Kit: i think matsuzaka will set the world on fire at the beginning...his motion isnt exactly conventional...but i worry about him in that division
Fantasy Baseball Express: lets do this!
-COMMISH-: Comment from AIM: Why is it taking FBE so long...isnt Howard the obvious pick?
Fantasy Insider Online: the thing with japanese pitchers, they're nasty out the gate cause nobody has ever seen them, then i feel like they fade away. ex: Nomo
FakeTeams.com: Nice place to take Johann
Fantasy Baseball Express: I took Reyes
The Fantasy Draft: Nomo got old
Mock Draft Central: Matsu could already be old
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: Do the experts think Crawford will add some power to his game this year. He seems like a one trick pony to me
Mock Draft Central: in terms of his arm / number of pitches
Sport Fanatics: Top player at position, big drop after Utley.
The Fantasy Draft: That's always the worry.
The Fantasy Draft: Love the Utley pick.
The Fantasy Draft: Biggest drop off at any position.
FakeTeams.com: i was ready to take utley at 5 but Howard fell to me
Mock Draft Central: Crawford should hit 25 hr this year and get another 50-60 SB
Mock Draft Central: doesn't hurt average
Mock Draft Central: like Soriano
Fantasy Insider Online: is this frozen?
-COMMISH-: Comment from AIM: I'm always intereted to see Wright vs. Cabrera. I like Miggy a littel better
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: better year in '07 Rocco Baldelli or Delmon Young?
Mock Draft Central: Wright has a better lineup around him
Mock Draft Central: more RBI opps
Mock Draft Central: I'll go on a limb and say Baldelli
-COMMISH-: Comment from AIM: Vlad slipped some. I've seen him go pretty high in some drafts
Mock Draft Central: I was very happy to get him there
Mock Draft Central: Lee was the other player I was considering
The Fantasy Draft: Can't go wrong with either of them.
-COMMISH-: Comment from AIM: I would have taken Sizemore over Lee
Mock Draft Central: any particular reason why?
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: How can you take Carlos Lee before Tex, Grady, and Holliday?
The Fantasy Draft: How can yoou not?
Mock Draft Central: I'd rank them Lee, Holliday, Grady, TEx
Fantasy Baseball Express: haha
-COMMISH-: Comment: Because Sizemore is better....
The Fantasy Draft: And with Lee's move to a hitters park?
Mock Draft Central: I'll call that personal preference
-COMMISH-: Question: Who will be the better fantasy player by year's end holliday or sizemore?
FakeTeams.com: I'll happily take a repeat of 2006
FakeTeams.com: Lee does run
Mock Draft Central: Holliday will have more HRs
Insider Baseball: I am surprised by how far Tex has dropped - he's basically had one bad half in the last 3 years
Fantasy Baseball Express: maybe if Sizemore was a .315+ hitter, maybe I'd think about Sizemore over Lee...but he's obviously not there yet
Fantasy Insider Online: i didn't pick jeter
-COMMISH-: Comment: Love the Aramis pick; now if he only heats up prior to June
-COMMISH-: Question from e-mail: I just wanna know if u guys think Vernon Wells will put up better numbers than last year??
FakeTeams.com: I caved to the crowd!
Mock Draft Central: figures. I had Holliday and Sizemore queued up
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: sizemore and wells had pretty comprable numbers last year. With wells cashing in on a contract already can't we expect perhaps a bit of a dip in his numbers?
Fantasy Baseball Express: I flipped a coin...I was gonna take Bay..but I like Hollidays average more
-COMMISH-: Comment from AIM: Tex will bounch back 24 HR's in the 2nd half last year (I believe); he will go lower in drafts and pay off big for his owners
Mock Draft Central: Wells had the year of his career last year
Mock Draft Central: his career avg is closer to .280
FakeTeams.com: Wells AVG is the key. Does it remain .300 or retreat back to the .270 level
Fantasy Baseball Express: great pick in Bay...may see some daylight now that he has LaRoche protecting him
-COMMISH-: Comment from AIM: I'm shocked at how early I've seen DLee go
Mock Draft Central: people remember 2005 really well
Fantasy Baseball Express: Experts remember 2005
The Fantasy Draft: Utley, Ramirez, and Miggy - nice infield
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: What does LaRoche batting behind Bay do for Bay's 2007 value?
Fantasy Baseball Express: Hopefully a better average and a few extra stolen bases
Sport Fanatics: thx
The Fantasy Draft: People in FL say the ball just shoots off of Hanley's bat a la Soriano back a few years
FakeTeams.com: how much better can Bay get?
Mock Draft Central: Bay could improve his average a bit
Rotodoc: I think Bay will remain as is...
Mock Draft Central: Needs a better team around him
-COMMISH-: Question: Will we see Tejada's power decline more this year?
Fantasy Baseball Express: ah ha...thanks. Sad to say, I am a MDC virgin
Rotodoc: for Tejada, I hope his numbers will improve.
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: Will Garrett Atkins do as well as last year?
Mock Draft Central: Avg could come down, but everything else is for real
Mock Draft Central: Webb is a nice pick there
-COMMISH-: Comment from AIM: I think the best team so far is Roto Authority. How much more dominant can you get with Santana and Halladay?
Roto Authority: hey who told my wife to write in
-COMMISH-: Comment from AIM: : i don't see how juan pierre can go this high in drafts... he'll give you boatloads of steals, but not much else... his average has dipped in the past few years, and i'd bet you it dips again
-COMMISH-: Question: following up on the garret atkins question, could one of the other 3B prospects colorado has, like Ian Stewart or Troy Tulowitski, (sp?) replace him in the near future?
-COMMISH-: Comment: Santana and Halladay is nice but batting is always more improtant than pitching. I wouldn't waste two high picks on pitching. It is sooo deep
The Fantasy Draft: Pierre is a poor man's Ichiro - tons of R and SBs
Mock Draft Central: Stewart regressed a bit in 06
The Fantasy Draft: I do think his average will inch up with the new surroundings.
-COMMISH-: Here is a fan from e-mail: Of all the idiotic picks made in this draft so far, the questioning the DLee pick is absurd. CLee pick was AWFUL, Vernon Wells pick was even worse. How could Teixiera, Sizemore slip so far?
-COMMISH-: Comment from AIM: in NFBC last year, I didn't take my first SP until round 5
-COMMISH-: Comment: I don't understand how you can take Hanley Ramirez ahead of Michael Young
The Fantasy Draft: Why do people not like CLee? He can hit, hit for power, knock in runs, AND steal a few bases
Mock Draft Central: Never hurts to have a stud SP, but the value has to be overwhelming to take them early
-COMMISH-: Comment: I disagree with the "Fantasy Draft" because Pierre doesnt score tons of runs... 87 leading off for any team last year with 58 SB is far from impressive
FakeTeams.com: I'm with Fantasy Draft!
Fantasy Baseball Express: I love Carlos Lee
-COMMISH-: Comment: Way too early for Verlander!
The Fantasy Draft: Agree re: Verlander
Mock Draft Central: I'm no fan of Pierre, but he has value by round 5
-COMMISH-: Comment: Love Abreu in round 5
Fantasy Baseball Express: This might be a retarded question, but will we be putting this draft into a league to see what kind of results we get
-COMMISH-: Comment: in rounds 7-12 there will be a abundance of SP. In my recent mock I don't think I took a SP until round 6 or 7 and I ended up with a league average rotation and very good offense
Mock Draft Central: Hanley has speed, but he could be a one year wonder
-COMMISH-: Comment from AIM: CLee is a nice player, but Sizemore beats him out in OBP, OPS, XBH, R, etc.
-COMMISH-: Comment: Zim's wayyy too high.... the two things he is good at is fielding and hitting for average, and one of those doesn't count. Plus he plays at RFK
-COMMISH-: Question/Comment: I expect Hanley to display less speed and more power in the future, after all florida eventually plans to move him into the #3 spot in the lineup. Will we see more power this year or will it take longer for it to develop?
The Fantasy Draft: OBP, OPS, XBH are not categories in this 5x5 league. I know they are predictors of underlying talent, but look at Lee's production.
Mock Draft Central: I like Zimmerman this year. He showed a lot of skill at the plate. Maybe a tad early, but not much
-COMMISH-: Question from e-mail: I just wanna know who u guys view as the most likely to have a sophmore jinx this year?
Mock Draft Central: Matsui is a good value there
FakeTeams.com: Howard and Lee provide some cushion to focus on some improvement. 11 Sb isn't bad either. Young enough not to lose that stat.
The Fantasy Draft: I worry about Papelbon as a starter.
-COMMISH-: Question: How can we expect Zimmerman to repeat 100 RBI without Soriano leading off and being on base?
-COMMISH-: Question for Mike Inglett: Why take Konerko when you could get someone at a weaker positions. VMart and McCann are still there. So are Brian Roberts and Cano
Insider Baseball: This isn't Wang's "sophomore year" per se, but I see him struggling a bit this year in his 2nd full year
Mock Draft Central: Soriano wasn't a model OBP guy. There are better leadoff men
FakeTeams.com: Bay had not problems getting to a 100 with a worse Pirates line-up. Plus Zimm may be in the 4hole
Rotodoc: Thanks, Matsui very consistent
Fantasy Baseball Express: Lets remember that Soriano wasn't on base as much as you might think... so Zimm might still be good for 100+
-COMMISH-: Comment from AIM: i see papelbon and verlander as HUGE bust canidates
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: what are your thoughts on cano v. roberts? who is the better value or is it a matter of who fits your respective team need?
-COMMISH-: Comment: I can't believe Michael Young is still there. Hanley, Furcal, AND Guillen ahead of him?
Mock Draft Central: a lot comes down to need on Cano vs Robert
Fantasy Baseball Express: thanks guy...for asking that question!! lol I had Cano all qued up
The Fantasy Draft: I think as we enter these miidle rounds it is more about fitting around the base you've established rather than Cano or Roberts being marginally better than the other
Mock Draft Central: Cano is in a better lineup
Mock Draft Central: I had Cano queued as well
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: why was howard taken so late i mean i have him in my top 2nd arod seemed to go a little high too?
Rotodoc: Cano is a very good pick.
-COMMISH-: Comment from AIM: Insider Baseball is putting together a great team
FakeTeams.com: I liked Utley as much as ARod. Very similar numbers last season and Ut has youth and position on his side.
Fantasy Baseball Express: I didnt realize we started the draft and the computer picked Reyes for me...I would have taken Howard at 4
Mock Draft Central: A rod is trying to prove he belongs in NY and he produces in the regular season when there's no pressure
Fantasy Baseball Express: Although.... I think I have recovered nicely with Reyes
-COMMISH-: Question: Adam Dunn: .230 AVG 40HR or .265AVG 50HR? Former or Latter?
Mock Draft Central: Hall is a nice, quiet pick
Mock Draft Central: .245 45 hr
Insider Baseball: probably more like .230 / 50 HR
-COMMISH-: Question from e-mail: why are so many closers going so early compared to starters?
Fantasy Baseball Express: Dont think Dunn will hit 50
Mock Draft Central: simple scarcity. 1 closer per team, maybe and multiple good starters per team
FakeTeams.com: A lot of the starters look the same after Santana falls off the board
-COMMISH-: Comment: Bill Hall ahead of Michael Young? What on earth am I missing?
-COMMISH-: Comment: You guys are putting way to many early picks into pitching! this is rediculous, there are names like martinez, young, rolen out there! I mean come on Jason Schmidt!
FakeTeams.com: P No middle infielder spot and everyone is saving the Dh hole
Insider Baseball: Agreed - my OF is weak - going to try and pick it up in the later rounds
-COMMISH-: Comment: I don't think Weeks is risky at all there.
The Fantasy Draft: Bonds is still available.
FakeTeams.com: Weeks? i thought he meant my Phillips selection.
The Fantasy Draft: How about Sammy Sosa?
-COMMISH-: Comment from e-mail: I hope everyone realizes with Hafner that his is going to finish in the top 6 or 7.
Roto Authority: word
The Fantasy Draft: Jason - good luck with what's left of the guy formerly known as Helton.
The Fantasy Draft: Pronk is a stud!
-COMMISH-: Question from e-mail: weekes- do you think he'll rebound from his injury to have a solid year?
Mock Draft Central: no worries, I'm going to double up at 1B
FakeTeams.com: If it helps, I was targeting Hafner with my 2nd pick but he went a few selections before me
-COMMISH-: Comment from AIM: love Magglio there
FakeTeams.com: A little run on 2B?
-COMMISH-: Question: Freddy Sanchez has a contact rate around 90%.. Should we expect his AVG to remain around .330?
Fantasy Insider Online: i guess my last two picks made up for the verlander debacle?
-COMMISH-: Comment: Can't believe Giambi is still on the board
COMMISH-: Comment: Love the Kendrick pick. He's undervalued as a 2B
Mock Draft Central: nice grab on Haren. Had him queued
Insider Baseball: .330 might be aggressive for Sanchez - I like his multiple pos eligibility and the lineup slightly improves this year
-COMMISH-: Comment: FBE: I love the Baldelli pick. I think he is going to have a huge year
Fantasy Insider Online: yeah, haren is a good pick
Mock Draft Central: I think you can pencil Sanchez in for .315 and hope for .330
Insider Baseball: agreed
Fantasy Insider Online: damn, i need a lipper
FakeTeams.com: Tim, you like all my players
Insider Baseball: anyone want to trade 1b?
Fantasy Baseball Express: Baldelli was amazing down the stretch last season. He was once compared to DiMaggio, so I just had to pick him...lol
Roto Authority: that is a good thing
-COMMISH-: Comment: roto authority is piling up the arms...i like it
Fantasy Baseball Express: I cant believe this guy is still here.....here it comes....
Fantasy Insider Online: love that matt cain pick
-COMMISH-: Question: can you please predict Matt Cain's 2007 numbers?
FakeTeams.com: Thanks. I wanted both Hamels and Cain but knew I'd likely settle for just one
FakeTeams.com: 3.50 15W 200K
-COMMISH-: Why are Rolen, Chipper and Crede still on the board? Is everyone waiting for someone else to take one of them before they take the other?
Fantasy Baseball Express: there are a ton of 3B...we're not in any rush
Fantasy Insider Online: WOW... nice roto... love that kid, he's gonna be nasty
Mock Draft Central: They'd be gone in a 12 teamer
Roto Draft Kit: thanks
-COMMISH-: Comment: prince fielder, round 10...take a bow man.
-COMMISH-: Comment: Nice pick Fantasy Draft...Lots-o-strikeouts
Fantasy Baseball Express: thank you, thank you...
-COMMISH-: Question from e-mail: do you think kazmir will have a good season? where should he be taken in most drafts?
The Fantasy Draft: Thanks. Need the Ks w/all the Relievers I have.
Fantasy Baseball Express: ok, I guess i'll be the one.......
-COMMISH-: Question for MDC: will there be a mock draft like this for dynasty leagues?
Mock Draft Central: Yes. We will be holding a first year dynasty mock draft in a couple weeks
-COMMISH-: Comment: for Authority: I like your patience at 3b with the plethora of guys still out there. Making Halladay pick look even better.
-COMMISH-: One of our users has a trade question for the experts: plus what do u think of this trade....david wright and felix hernandez for bonderman and atkins...im getting wright....league scoring is odd....10 pts a win 1 a k -1 k for offense pt an out 6 pts homers 1 pt hit 2 pt double
Fantasy Baseball Express: so did I just slip my pick of Rich Hill by everyone??? Surprised nobody cared to comment!!!!
Roto Authority: like him a lot
Roto Authority: thought he'd drop further
-COMMISH-: Comment: Chris Young is a big pick i think. Maybe its that stadium he plays in or his start in the playoffs, but i think he'll break out.
Insider Baseball: I said "there he goes" to myself - was too lazy to type it out
-COMMISH-: Comment: Fantasy Baseball Express: Nice pick with Rich Hill, I'm sure it was only a matter of a round or 2 before Roto Authority took Hill, his secret lover.
Roto Authority: oh its no secret
Fantasy Baseball Express: haha I figure, in most drafts, if you want him, you have to grab him a couple of rounds earlier than he's projected to go...to make sure he is yours
Roto Authority: the videotape is out
Mock Draft Central: Atkins could be displaced, Bonderman has a 4.0+ era and threw a lot of innings last year
The Fantasy Draft: Better than having Sidney Ponson as your secret lover.
-COMMISH-: Question from e-mail: Why is Alex Rios still available?
Mock Draft Central: Wright is clearly a stud and Felix is a potential stud
Insider Baseball: SHHH!! Not so loud about Rios!
Fantasy Insider Online: LOL
Fantasy Baseball Express: haha yep, I put the C-Block on Rotoauthority!
-COMMISH-: Comment: Re: Chris Young.. 2.40 road ERA, yet in the most spacious home ballpark possible, he can't get the job done.
-COMMISH-: Comment: Tim, He stole your boy Rich Hill, dont let him steal Mark Ellis too, haha
Mock Draft Central: leaves room for improvement for Young then. Some guys have a mental block
Insider Baseball: good point - but he's only 27. I think Young puts it all together this year
-COMMISH-: Comment: Tim better grab Crede before he goes
-COMMISH-: Looks like some people have Roto Authority scouted
Roto Authority: bastards
Fantasy Insider Online: ray is a great pick up
Mock Draft Central: argh. Nice steal on Ray
-COMMISH-: Question for Tim: Authority: Pierre over Sheets? Would you go back and change that if you could?
Fantasy Baseball Express: OMG...anyone see this guy on A.I.?
Roto Authority: maybe
Roto Authority: thought sheets would drop more
Insider Baseball: that was my Rios pick
-COMMISH-: Comment: Tim doesn't need sheets with his stack rotation
-COMMISH-: Comment: Re: Idol... his eyes are bulging out as much as mine were at how far Harang slipped
The Fantasy Draft: Nice pick ups - Hunter and Gonzalez
Fantasy Baseball Express: haha
Mock Draft Central: That's how I could afford to draft Helton at 1B :)
The Fantasy Draft: Jason - Gonzalez'll have a better year than Helton.
Mock Draft Central: very possible
-COMMISH-: Question: How is Felipe Lopez still sitting there/
-COMMISH-: Question: What are the chances Lidge rebounds to 2005 form?
Fantasy Baseball Express: nobody wants his .260 average potential
Mock Draft Central: moved to a big park ad mediocre AVG
-COMMISH-: Comment: Helton is washed up ever since they figured him out for steriods
Mock Draft Central: Lidge scares me.
Fantasy Insider Online: my outfield is so suspect
-COMMISH-: Catcher question: posada, johjima, hernandez or barrett?
Mock Draft Central: Iguchi is a nice pickup
Mock Draft Central: Barrett
-COMMISH-: Comment: NO chance on Lidge, the oppotunities will dry up, you see that rotation? After Oswalt, forget it
-COMMISH-: Comment: Insider: You definetely have the highest paid OF
Insider Baseball: Throw Berkman out there too...!
-COMMISH-: Comment on the catchers: Ramon, all the way
The Fantasy Draft: Thanks re: Iguchi. I know you were looking at a 2B
-COMMISH-: Question: Josh Beckett is still out there... Washed up?
Mock Draft Central: Beckett is a real wildcard. I wouldn't touch him before I had 3 solid SP on my team
Fantasy Baseball Express: Beckett hasnt lived up to the hype
-COMMISH-: Question from e-mail: Any comments on John Patterson this year?
Mock Draft Central: He's no John Thompson ;)
-COMMISH-: Comment: someone grab patterson NOW!
Fantasy Baseball Express: 200K potential if he can stay healthy....thats if. He's in the Prior, Wood, Harden, Sheets category
-COMMISH-: I think he's talking about Corey, though
-COMMISH-: Tim's Scout says: Tim..........Closer time
-COMMISH-: Comment about John Patterson: John Patterson if healthy will be a key contributer in WHIP and K's, b ut the wins just wont be there
-COMMISH-: Comment: nice move, valverde is better than ast years stats
-COMMISH-: And a question to go along: Do you think Valverde can keep the job this year?
Roto Authority: yah
Roto Authority: i think he can fend off julio
Mock Draft Central: a blind woman could fend off julio
Insider Baseball: I heard a bizarre rumor about Johnson possibly closing if all else fails... just a rumor
-COMMISH-: Question: Will Russell Martin break out and be a sleeper catcher?
Mock Draft Central: absolutely love Martin. Would take him here in a heartbeat if I didn't already have McCann
Mock Draft Central: he get's some SB as well
-COMMISH-: Comment: Joe Crede time, TIMBO
-COMMISH-: Would our Roto Authority fans care to guess what Tim had for breakfast this morning?
-COMMISH-: Comment: Risk Reward Gagne,.....
The Fantasy Draft: Nice pickup with larry. i thought he might last.
-COMMISH-: First guess: Dunkin Donuts drive thru
-COMMISH-: Second guess: He didnt eat breakfast this morning
Roto Authority: why is odalis perez still out there
-COMMISH-: Third guess: 2 eggs over easy, home fries, coffee
-COMMISH-: Fourth guess: guess: frosted flakes
Fantasy Baseball Express: How come I cant find Steve Balboni's name on the list?
-COMMISH-: Fifth guess: my guess: cheese omellete
Insider Baseball: search under "Bye Bye" Balboni
Fantasy Insider Online: steve bye bye balboni
-COMMISH-: So Tim, what did you have for breakfast?
Fantasy Insider Online: why do i have the whole yankee lineup?
Roto Authority: i actually skipped it
-COMMISH-: And we have a winner!
The Fantasy Draft: I love Martin, also.
Fantasy Baseball Express: so who do the viewers like the best so far????
-COMMISH-: kevinbarry wins a restraining order for knowing Tim a little too well
-COMMISH-: Comment: Tim: You've already given away your secret about Rich Hill... Don't overdo it by telling us what you eat for breakfast
-COMMISH-: Comment: Best so far: Fantasy Baseball Express
The Fantasy Draft: Good luck with Randy
Fantasy Baseball Express: your just saying that...
Roto Draft Kit: out of the AL...ill take my chances
-COMMISH-: Comment: Who doesn't love BUSH?
Mock Draft Central: he should get 3 extra K's per game facing the pitcher
Mock Draft Central: I love BUSH. Had him queued up
Fantasy Baseball Express: what are we talkin about here? hmmm
-COMMISH-: Comment: dude, is it just me, or does Insider Baseball killing you guys already?.........seriously, this guy has an unbelievable draft so far
The Fantasy Draft: I like FBExpress' draft, especially Glaus that late, but he'll get killed in SBs and Svs... as of now.
Insider Baseball: Thanks for the props!
-COMMISH-: Comment: Best Team: Sports Fanatics.. like the depth at rotation, mix of young and vets.. but i wonder about the AVG category with dunn and franceour
Mock Draft Central: dammit. Wanted Dotel there
-COMMISH-: Comment for Tim: Crede.....tim,.....Crede!!!!!!!!!!!! u missed him
Fantasy Baseball Express: How ill I get killed in Sb's and saves?? I have Reyes, weeks, holliday, Baldelli and I drafted Street and Cordero
FakeTeams.com: Any suggestions for a wacky PC?
Roto Authority: owned
-COMMISH-: Question for Tim: How does Tim feel about his 2 closers being question marks?
-COMMISH-: Comment: baseball insider is hurtin when Gordon goes down
Roto Authority: i feel OK
Roto Authority: i dont like drafting closers
Roto Authority: 10 team league
Roto Authority: they'd turn up
Insider Baseball: I like to piece together the closer situation as I go - if you do your research, you can always pick guys up
-COMMISH-: Comment: Tim: Blalock, Clemens or I'll Robinson Cano you to death
The Fantasy Draft: FBExpress. Sorry missed Street and Baldelli.
Insider Baseball: I missed out on the elite, so i'm passing
-COMMISH-: Question for the experts: With this set-up, what are the opinions on the best strategy in regards to the # of closers/ starters?
-COMMISH-: Comment: Better grab Soloman Torres
-COMMISH-: Comment: Insider Baseball got a steal with Josh Johnson. How does a guy with those stats last year go this late?
Mock Draft Central: I don't go in with a preconceived notion. If the draft gives me 3 nice closing options, I'm happy. If I get 3 solid starters great.
Mock Draft Central: Johnson was at top of my list
Mock Draft Central: definitely a steal
-COMMISH-: Question for Roto Authority: Tim: I like the Teahan pick... but was it too early with Beltra, Tracy, Hank, Chavez, Huff, etc. still out there?
Roto Authority: it was
Roto Authority: for sure
Roto Authority: i was getting antsy though
Roto Authority: consider it an emotional choice
-COMMISH-: An e-mailer would like to know about this projection for Randy Johnson: Unit: 14w - 3.4 - 1.2 - 190k ?
-COMMISH-: Comment: Ah...I love the SP thats still out there, this is why i like to wait...we've got the high upside guys: Wainwright, Reyes, James, Sanchez, Billingsley along with the more average (but reliable) guys: Maddux, Garland, Buehrle. Heck if my rotation at the end of the day was Garland, Buehrle, Wainwright, Reyes, Sanchez (something along those lines) I think that rotation could compete
Roto Draft Kit: era a little optimistic in that park...but id say not too far off
Roto Draft Kit: IF he stays healthy
-COMMISH-: Big fan of you guys: some expert draft, bunch of duds
The Fantasy Draft: Nice pick up with Snatana
Fantasy Insider Online: thanks
-COMMISH-: Question: Is Corey Hart a good pick for a bench spot in a more deep league?
Mock Draft Central: I think Hart is worth a shot in deep leagues
Fantasy Baseball Express: absolutely! He has 20/20 .280+ potential
Sport Fanatics: In deep league yes.
-COMMISH-: Comment: Love Santana there, great pick
Fantasy Baseball Express: it would be nice though if he had an OF spot nailed down
Fantasy Insider Online: scotty pods!
-COMMISH-: Question from e-mail: What's EVERYONE's opinion of the Rocket? When should Clemens go?
Insider Baseball: soon
Roto Draft Kit: i think clemens will retire but we'll see
-COMMISH-: Question from AIM: How many young arms is too many young arms at the end of a draft?
The Fantasy Draft: Too much risk for my appetite
Fantasy Insider Online: definitely too much risk
Mock Draft Central: if they are good arms, it's never toomay
Mock Draft Central: manu
-COMMISH-: Question: Is Anibal Sanchez the next Bud Smith?
Mock Draft Central: depends if you mean first year guys or just young guys (1-3 years in)
The Fantasy Draft: Did someone say Bud?
Mock Draft Central: too many rookies is dangerous
-COMMISH-: Question: Why is Podsednik going before Lofton? They put up similar steal numbers, and lofton is much more reliable in the average department
Fantasy Insider Online: great zumaya pick
Insider Baseball: thanks
Roto Draft Kit: less risk with pods...lofton is kinda old and pods has far more potential (see '05)
-COMMISH-: Comment: Mark prior anyone?
-COMMISH-: Comment for Seth on Clemens: RotoDraft: He's already announced he wants to play. Nice try.
Roto Draft Kit: he announces a lot of things....
Roto Authority: aight
-COMMISH-: Comment: Wainwright K'd Beltran and Floyd with the bases loaded and closed out the WS... no love
-COMMISH-: Comment for Joe Ribando: INSIDER: not sure which combo was better: Bonderman and Harang or Lowe and Wainwright
Insider Baseball: Its too risky to waste a high pick on Wainwright - he's a late-round guy
Sport Fanatics: Have ti wait and see if he will be closing or SP.
-COMMISH-: Comment from e-mail: Here is some of the best advice I can offer in a mixed league, 12 team draft. You will make the playoffs if you keep up with the FA pool. With that said, Clemens becomes a 5th round value. Drafting Clemens any later than 10th Rnd in a draft is a HUGE mistake when you know he becomes a top pitcher down the stretch for your team.
Mock Draft Central: Cabrera - perrenial -is this the year- player
-COMMISH-: Comment for FIO: Fantasy Baseball Online got a steal with Conor Jackson. The guy could hit .300 and hit 30 HR
Fantasy Insider Online: thanks
-COMMISH-: Comment: Please nobody draft Barry Bonds
Mock Draft Central: in retrospect, I should have gone A Gonz and C Jackson at 1B
-COMMISH-: Question: Is markakis really batting 3rd?
Insider Baseball: Nice to see Kent getting some last-round love
Roto Draft Kit: funny markakis story...i did an orioles top 10 prospects list two years ago and ranked val majewski over markakis...the following day markakis' mom emailed me and she was mad....mom knows best!

Fantasy Baseball Express: I will be doing a podcast covering this draft by Friday, so check it out at www.fantasybaseballexpress.com
-COMMISH-: I asked this in Rd 2, but it's more appropriate now: Someone earlier mentioned not being worried taking the #10 1B - I strongly agree. Can Nick Johnson/Adrian Gonz/Conor Jackson start at 1B in a 10 team league?
The Fantasy Draft: Excellent. Look forward to hearing it
Fantasy Insider Online: can u let us know fantasy baseball exp?
Mock Draft Central: absolutely, but you need to have at least two in case one slumps or is hurt
Fantasy Baseball Express: let you know what?
Fantasy Insider Online: about the podcast
Fantasy Insider Online: i agree, need to have atleasst two
Fantasy Baseball Express: I post the podcast on my website, and it will be available via iTunes and over 60+ podcast sites...for free...I'll have it up by late Friday night
-COMMISH-: Question: if hafner wasnt DH only, would he go first round?
Fantasy Baseball Express: If any of you guys want to team up our websites, I'm always lookin for opportunities to spread the word about our websites...email me
Fantasy Insider Online: shameless plug: hit us up on MySpace: www.myspace.com/fantasyinsideronline
Fantasy Insider Online: fantasy baseball exp: my one boy is a huge fan of your podcasts
-COMMISH-: Any comments on the Hafner question?
-COMMISH-: Would he be a first rounder if not for the DH only eligibility?
Fantasy Insider Online: didn't realize you were the fantasyman one...
Fantasy Baseball Express: really? Thats great to hear. Thank you
Insider Baseball: Yes - I think Hafner is a borderline 1st roudner as it is - position eligibility would probably bump him up
Mock Draft Central: I would say early two at the latest.
Mock Draft Central: 1B would help both Haf and Ortiz
Fantasy Insider Online: 12-man league he could break into the first round, don't you think?
-COMMISH-: Question: This is what I've gotten out of this mock draft: Wait on 1B, 3B, and SP for sure. There are also a fair amount of solid OF to be had late in rounds. In addition if you don't get utley don't bother drafting a 2b for a while. Good Catchers can be had late as well. Basically, it seems to me, any position can be had late as long as you're watching for it. But It seems to me, the one position to draft early is SS. Can any experts chime in on these findings?
Fantasy Baseball Express: Thats me! tell your boy there will be plenty more to come in the coming weeks!
Mock Draft Central: A definite possibility, but I'd probably lean toward OF as you need more of them
Fantasy Insider Online: yeah, he's hit you up on myspace a few times he was saying
Mock Draft Central: I agree with most of what you said. I would caution on OF if you need 5 starters
Mock Draft Central: I also would suggest grabbing 1 stud SP and then waiting
Mock Draft Central: C is suprisingly deep this year
-COMMISH-: Alrighty folks, I'm off. Thanks to experts and viewers alike.
Mock Draft Central: SS is definitely a position you can't wait on
Mock Draft Central: Thanks Geoff
Fantasy Baseball Express: Hey, thanks Man!
Fantasy Insider Online: i agree... the catcher position is like the kicker position in football... the difference between 1 and 10 isn't as substanital as other positions
Fantasy Insider Online: thanks geoff
Insider Baseball: Thanks
Fantasy Insider Online: alright yo, I'M OUT! great talking with you guys and definitely hit me up sometime...
Fantasy Baseball Express: You got it! Peace out!
