Lenny Pappano: hey fellas
(Commish): Welcome to Lenny Pappano of Draft Sharks
Lenny Pappano: is this jeff
(Commish): Yes, sir
(Commish): How are you, Lenny?
(Commish): Welcome to Steven Wray of Fantasy Football Cafe
(Commish): Welcome to John Tuvey of The Huddle
(Commish): Welcome to Rick Hawes of Fanball
Lenny Pappano: i am doing great...is this ppr
Steven Wray: Howdy fellas :)
(Commish): Yes, this is a PPR mock
(Commish): We have our first question from a MDC member....
(Commish): Question from AIM: How high is everyone willing to take Selvin Young?
Lenny Pappano: top 5 pick:)
(Commish): Speaking like the guy sitting at No. 12 there, Lenny
John Tuvey: I certainly hope he's off the board before I pick at #9
(Commish): I know Steven likes him a lot at No. 1
Lenny Pappano: :)
Steven Wray: haha
Lenny Pappano: will this be a real league??
(Commish): Nope, just a mocl
John Tuvey: I'd be shocked if someone in this group dipped a toe in the Shanahan backfield pool prior to Round 5.
(Commish): mock
Lenny Pappano: ok
Steven Wray: i am assuming redraft Geoff, is that correct?
(Commish): Yes, sir
(Commish): Question from AIM: This may seem like a question that is asked many times but when do you pick up mcfadden?
Steven Wray: great. thanks.
(Commish): I've seen McFadden go as early as the mid-second and as late as the fourth
Lenny Pappano: about 25th RB
(Commish): Some like him a lot more than others -- he'll have a wide range all summer long
(Commish): Welcome to Bob Harris of Football Die Hards
Bob Harris: Greetings all.
(Commish): This may seem like a question that is asked many times but when do you pick up mcfadden?
(Commish): Oops
Lenny Pappano: hey bob..is it really you
(Commish): Disregard that :-)
Bob Harris: Bob Harris will once again be playing Bob Harris.
(Commish): Darn. I liked the other guy better -- more emotion
Lenny Pappano: lol
Bob Harris: (--:
(Commish): Question from AIM: Do you guys think that Vikings defence should be picked up by sixth round?
Rick Hawes: no
Bob Harris: No.
Lenny Pappano: never
Lenny Pappano: unless bob takes them
Bob Harris: There is still too much value available at other positions at that point in the draft.
(Commish): They've been the first defense selected in a lot of mocks, but the sixth is too early
(Commish): Welcome to Michael Nease of Fantasy Football Mastermind
(Commish): I'll throw a question out there: Would anyone not take LT No. 1 overall?
(Commish): Welcome to Chris Jackson of Quest Fantasy Football Leagues
Lenny Pappano: me
Lenny Pappano: all day
Michael Nease: Hello guys
(Commish): Interesting...
(Commish): Question from AIM: Would any of you guys take Tom Brady within the first five picks?
Lenny Pappano: negative
Lenny Pappano: never take a QB in first 5 rounds
Bob Harris: No on Brady... Still prefer LT in PPR leagues
(Commish): Welcome to Derek Jones of RotoRob
Derek Jones: hey gang
(Commish): Question from AIM: Do you think that Devin Hester will be an effective WR?
John Tuvey: Not with those quarterbacks
Bob Harris: I think he needs time to develop as a wideout, but John is right.
Lenny Pappano: no..aleast not this year
Derek Jones: exactly, those qbs kill him
Steven Wray: ok you guys have 90 seconds to talk me out of taking LT. :)
John Tuvey: I heard the Chargers just picked up Travis Henry...
Lenny Pappano: he is a retired LB..why would u take him??
Steven Wray: haha
Steven Wray: ok i am waiting to go Geoff. Til I hear from you
(Commish): Welcome to Cal Spears of Fantasy Fanatics
Cal Spears: thanks
Cal Spears: hey guys
(Commish): WElcome to Lori Rubinson of Creative Sports
(Commish): Welcome to Todd Farino of Fantasy Football Search
Lori Rubinson: Hi everyone
(Commish): Welcome to Roger Rotter of Fox Sports
(Commish): Late arriving crowd tonight -- thank you to all the experts for joining us
(Commish): Steven -- we're rolling pal
Steven Wray: fair enough :) Good luck guys
(Commish): Comment from AIM: Westbrook is a steal at 4 in ppr
Lenny Pappano: may be true
Bob Harris: I think so, too. Heavy workload always a concern with him, but he's held up so far.
(Commish): Question from AIM: Another old question: Will McFadden be as good as AP last year?
Bob Harris: I don't think so.
Steven Wray: i don't think so either
Lenny Pappano: no way
(Commish): Question from AIM: Lynch at 6? please explain
Derek Jones: i like him this year....think he has a good upside
Cal Spears: i think he's a steal at his ADP
Derek Jones: buffalo is on the rise i do believe
Bob Harris: New coordinator is planning to throw to Lynch more.
Derek Jones: yeah, i hear that...addai though has manning who may take away from his numbers
Lori Rubinson: Damn on Portis. I was hoping for him
Todd Farino: Great Pick
Bob Harris: I think Gore will turn out to be a very good value there
John Tuvey: I was worried I might be too early on him, but that's good to hear. Almost waited until Round 2, that obviously wouldn't have worked
Steven Wray: yeah i like Portis too.
(Commish): Comment from AIM: Brady is round 2 wow!
Lori Rubinson: I was torn between Gore and LJ
Lori Rubinson: You guy dared me to take Brady
Lenny Pappano: i like gore in ppr
Todd Farino: Geoff, you running this draft?
(Commish): Yes, sir
Todd Farino: How are you doing!
(Commish): Good. Yourself?
Lori Rubinson: I love Grant. Great pick there
Todd Farino: Great
(Commish): Comment from AIM: Grand is good value there
John Tuvey: Lori, you're far too kind. Felt like I had to take him there, but I have worries about the GB offense. Then again, I am a Vikings fan so hating on the Pack is in my blood.
(Commish): Bush at 3.1 of a PPR is good value
Steven Wray: thanks Geoff
Todd Farino: nice pick with Bush
Lori Rubinson: love Colston!
Todd Farino: I was banking on getting him with the turn around pick
Steven Wray: 3.5 on Peyton that's nice I think
Cal Spears: yeah, was hoping he would fall
Lori Rubinson: welker's good in PPR
Michael Nease: yep 112 catches
(Commish): Comment from AIM: Interesting pick with Chad
(Commish): I'll compound on that: Anyone staying away from Chad no matter what?
Lori Rubinson: yeah, i know. wanted maroney.
Lori Rubinson: he may sit out season or not
Bob Harris: I think at this point in the draft, 85 is a fine pick
(Commish): Can't see a situation where he doesn't play
Lori Rubinson: cincy passes enough. i'll take chad over Detroit Offense
(Commish): Would you take Witten over Gates in a non-PPR Roger?
Roger Rotter: Yes.
Bob Harris: I would given the health issues (for Gates)
Steven Wray: i would too
Chris Jackson: me too
(Commish): Hard to argue that, just wondering
Rick Hawes: me too
Roger Rotter: Gates is battling a foot injury, so that knocks him down
Roger Rotter: Also, Witten is Dallas' No. 2 receiver, essentially.
Lori Rubinson: i was about to write that Roger
(Commish): Question from e-mail: who is the #2 rookie
Rick Hawes: Stewart
Cal Spears: stewart
(Commish): Our ADP agrees
Cal Spears: looks like he may just take over foster's role
Bob Harris: I like Stewart and Kevin Smith
Todd Farino: I wanted Harrison. Another steal
(Commish): Interesting on McFadden
(Commish): I think everyone else was just scared of Marvin
Todd Farino: PLease, he's Marvin
(Commish): Scared in the sense that he seems to like weapons
Steven Wray: there's some risk but at 5.1 I thought it could be worth it
Cal Spears: wow, earliest i've seen stewart go
John Tuvey: Great pick, Bob. Underrated pass catcher as well, great for this format.
Bob Harris: Long time til my next pick. Needed another back and he was at the top of my list.
(Commish): Question from AIM: where would jennings go if farve will still quarterback?
Derek Jones: probably up to two rounds earlier i feel
(Commish): Here's a question from e-mail we all wish we could answer: Who did you see receiving the bulk of the carries in Denver's backfield?
Bob Harris: I would appear Mike Shanahan is gaining confidence in Young
(Commish): Cal just gave his answer
Cal Spears: heh
Steven Wray: you guys think Torain becomes a factor at all/
Chris Jackson: Torain, Ryan
Chris Jackson: yes
Cal Spears: young could be huge
Roger Rotter: I've had Selvin Young ahead of Travis Henry all along. I think Hall has a better chance than Torain, at least from the onset.
Cal Spears: a gamble though so i still have a lot of work to do on my rb depth
Bob Harris: I agree with Roger
Chris Jackson: Young looks hurt after every play
(Commish): I think TJ is a value at that point, Lori
(Commish): Like what they did up-front this offseason
(Commish): Tony Richardson will only help, too
(Commish): Lot of interesting names at the top of the board
Cal Spears: poor edge
(Commish): Edge, Rudi and Freddy -- welcome back to 2002!
Lori Rubinson: i think Edge is done
(Commish): Really? He wasn't that bad last year and there's no real competition out there
Lori Rubinson: Nice on Kevin Smith
Michael Nease: ty
(Commish): Comment from AIM: nice pick on calvin johnson
Bob Harris: I like Stewart and Smith ahead of McFadden in re-draft leagues
Bob Harris: Evans should be a very good pick here
(Commish): Question from AIM: a lot of tight ends going early ... who are some good late value picks at the position
Cal Spears: crumpler in teh 10th or 11th should be great
Roger Rotter: Tony Scheffler, L.J. Smith
Chris Jackson: D Owens
Cal Spears: if i can't get one of the top 5 TE's my strategy is to wait on crumpler
Bob Harris: I like McMichael late
Todd Farino: Tough decisions here
Todd Farino: I like Taylor as a 3 RB
(Commish): McMichael is a really good one, Bob
(Commish): He burned me last year, though, not sure I can pull the trigger in '08
Steven Wray: Todd you got a little payback with Driver there
Bob Harris: Al Saunders -- Pro Bowl TE 8 years running
(Commish): Hard not to like what Saunders does with the TE though
(Commish): Beat me to it
(Commish): Question from e-mail: how will mendenhall effect parker?
Bob Harris: He should help him; they can't keep running the wheels off Fast Willie
John Tuvey: He'll be fresher, but the fear is he'll lose goal line carries.
Rick Hawes: agreed on the goal line carries
Derek Jones: well, its interesting dynamic...i think he'll be a big help towards the end of the season
Rick Hawes: love the porter pick
Bob Harris: Love Porter at this point
Rick Hawes: he was mine
(Commish): Question from AIM: what do you expect from forte?
Bob Harris: I'm ranking him ahead of Benson -- but ready to adjust this summer (--:
Lori Rubinson: I figure shockey and Chad J. can hang out together
(Commish): Ha
(Commish): Maybe Chad can grow a mullett, too
Lori Rubinson: and plaxico
Roger Rotter: I think Forte is an excellent No. 3 RB and a good mid-round value.
Rick Hawes: I hope so
(Commish): Question from e-mail: what is the thinnest position?
Roger Rotter: He should win the starting job based upon his talent. Benson showed no breakaway ability last year. Unless that changes, Forte can earn the starting spot. They spent an early second rounder on him.
Roger Rotter: Quarterback
(Commish): I agree with that
Roger Rotter: After the top eight, the list of proven QBs drops dramatically.
Roger Rotter: I normally would take a QB by the 5th, but I was able to get my next rated QB in the eight round.
Rick Hawes: I like Cutler as well, I was hoping he would fall one more round
(Commish): Like Cutler as well
Roger Rotter: Hopefully, he does well.
(Commish): Anyone trust Eli this year?
Rick Hawes: 23+ TD the past three seasons, just needs to improve his decision making
Cal Spears: ugh, was hoping engram would fall for a while
Bob Harris: I'm ranking as low end starter
Roger Rotter: He's a good choice and value pick this late in a reception league.
Roger Rotter: Nice pick!
(Commish): I don't mind Eli so much, but I like to grab another QB in the 10th, 11th, or 12th -- Jason Campbell being a fave
Steven Wray: i like the dunn pick too
Bob Harris: I share Gruden's love for old guys able to make big plays
Bob Harris: (--:
(Commish): Next up on Bob's list: Jacquez Green
Bob Harris: Yeah baby!
Roger Rotter: I have Eli ranked one ahead of Rivers, but with my backup, I'm going to take a bigger risk with more upside in Rivers.
(Commish): Comment from AIM: nice pick on bradshaw
Michael Nease: ty
Lori Rubinson: i'm so pissed you took Ahmad. great pick. great
(Commish): Rick -- On a scale of 1-10, how comfy are you with Eli as your starter?
Rick Hawes: 7.5
Roger Rotter: Anyone think Derrick Ward has a chance to be the second back behind Brandon Jacobs?
Rick Hawes: But in the 9th round I'm cool with that
(Commish): Ward is certainly a forgotten man
Bob Harris: I think it's Bradshaw behind Jacobs
Rick Hawes: I agree
Steven Wray: i tend to think bradshaw as well.
Michael Nease: Me too he could be the next Tiki Barber
Lori Rubinson: i think Bradshaw will get 10 touches a game and Jacobs about 18
Lori Rubinson: almost a split
(Commish): Question from AIM: who are some players that can move up in value between now and real drafts?
Rick Hawes: Selvin Young
Lori Rubinson: ward is #3 on depth chart for Giants
Bob Harris: Agree with Rick on Young
Rick Hawes: Jake Delhomme
Bob Harris: Another good one
Rick Hawes: I think possibly the 49er receivers, Bruce and Johnson
Rick Hawes: (the Martz effect)
Bob Harris: I was hoping Ricky would fall
Rick Hawes: I like the Rasta pick, nice.
Roger Rotter: Not a fan of this pick. He may get injured easily again.
(Commish): Comment from AIM: Bulger in the 10'th seems like a steal
Roger Rotter: But he's the backup. I'm talking about my pick! Williams
(Commish): Question from e-mail: is aaron rogers worth drafting?
Rick Hawes: I'm scared of him
(Commish): That's the latest I've seen the Vikings go in any expert mock this preseason
Chris Jackson: yes
(Commish): Question from e-mail: best fantasy landing spot for alexander and jones?
(Commish): I'd say best landing spot: on someone else's team
Bob Harris: I don't see many good fits for Alexander; not a good complementary player
(Commish): I think Jones would be a good fit in Detroit. Oh ... wait...
Rick Hawes: hee hee
(Commish): Nice pick on Garrard
Michael Nease: ty
(Commish): Question from e-mail: What situations are must handcuff?
(Commish): I think the Denver situation is worth considering
(Commish): Young will go the earliest
(Commish): But Pittman and Andre Hall are worth a bench spot if you have room
Bob Harris: I'm not a big fan of handcuffing, but Denver is one situation; Houston maybe another
Bob Harris: Green/Chris Brown
(Commish): That one can be had pretty easily
Bob Harris: Quite cheap (--:
(Commish): Lenny going QBBC
Bob Harris: Alex Gibbs is now in Houston; he has a strong track record
Lenny Pappano: as usual
(Commish): Is that the official Draft Sharks strategy?
Lenny Pappano: absolutely
(Commish): :-)
(Commish): A little preview for all the viewers
(Commish): Any of the experts want to plug their site to our viewing audience?
Bob Harris: FootballDiehards.com -- all free, all the time.
(Commish): There we go
(Commish): Thought we were going to have an expert draft first: no plugs
Bob Harris: You kept asking, I started feeling bad
Bob Harris: (--;
Roger Rotter: Yes, foxsports.com/fantasy/football is also free all the time!
(Commish): There we go
(Commish): And thanks Bob
Chris Jackson: Questfantasyfootballleagues.com - We have money leagues drafting now - Live drafts held at Mock Draft Central

(Commish): Good plug Chris :-)
Michael Nease: www.ffmastermind.com Visit and chat with our subscribers. I'll let them tell you why to join. Just visit our free Counselor's Forum.
(Commish): Question from AIM: please give some names to keep an eye on
Chris Jackson: Keep an eye on SF WRs
Bob Harris: Jonathan Stewart, Kevin Smith are two rookies I really like
John Tuvey: Robert Meacham. The #2 WR in that offense should put up nice numbers, and Meacham has had a nice minicamp
Chris Jackson: B Johnson
Chris Jackson: nice... Meacham
Todd Farino: Good pick with Meachum
Roger Rotter: Thank you Bob for the mention. Your footballdiehards.com site is excellent, btw.
Bob Harris: You are too kind (--:
(Commish): What a loving group of experts
(Commish): Question from AIM: does travis henry have a chance to play anywhere?
Lenny Pappano: yes...toronto argos
Cal Spears: the argos are going to be sick this year
(Commish): He's thrived up that way before :
(Commish): Question from e-mail: What is the best draft slot this year?
Bob Harris: I like 1 and 2 an awful lot
(Commish): Hard to go wrong with four in a PPR
Bob Harris: I fared well there tonight
(Commish): Let three other guys make your pick
John Tuvey: I'd say four or five. You get a top-tier back (depends on if you lump Addai into that group) and an earlier pick on the way back
Lenny Pappano: the best draft i had thus far was from the 10 spot
Cal Spears: i dont have any one spot that i dont like this year
(Commish): How many drafts have you done now, Lenny? Gotta be close to triple-digits :-)
Cal Spears: last year four was awful because i felt like i had to take LJ there
Cal Spears: this year there the first couple rounds seem smooth from just about anywhere
Lori Rubinson: i took Adai out of 4 slot last year
Cal Spears: i took him 3
Todd Farino: Great draft guys
(Commish): Question from e-mail: what is everyones favroite team?
Todd Farino: I wish I was more prepared, but baseball is killing me
(Commish): Yes, thanks much for joining us, experts
Todd Farino: Dallas Cowboys
Steven Wray: Colts guy here
(Commish): And thanks much to the viewers who joined us for 90 minutes of non-stop draft action
Todd Farino: Thank you Geoff
Chris Jackson: Lions.. ouch for me
Bob Harris: Thanks Geoff. Thanks all.
Lori Rubinson: NY Giants for me
(Commish): The Red Sox and Cowboys, huh Todd?
Steven Wray: geoff thanks as always for an excellent draft
Chris Jackson: Nice draft all
Todd Farino: THat's right VEGAS BABY
Steven Wray: i appreciate the invite :)
(Commish): Thanks guys
Todd Farino: Lakers as well, I'm in my golden age
Cal Spears: thank you commish
John Tuvey: Thanks for organizing, Geoff. Love the revamped interface; haven't seen it for a while and it looks very sharp
Derek Jones: thanks geoff!
(Commish): Thanks for the kind words, John
Michael Nease: thanks Geoff
Bob Harris: This is definitely a great draft interface. My favorite by far
(Commish): No worries, Michael. Say hi to Mike N for me

(Commish): I'm sure I'll see you 50 more times
Lori Rubinson: Thanks and good night
Chris Jackson: Love the Software Geoff
Rick Hawes: Great draft gents, loved the fast pace.
Todd Farino: Geoff, can you send me the spreadsheet of the first mock draft as well?
(Commish): I'm sure the Quest drafters will, too :-)
Lori Rubinson: i don't mind being called a guy, but not a gent:(
(Commish): Sure, Todd
(Commish): lol, sorry Lori
Rick Hawes: Sorry Lori, ladies and gents
Todd Farino: Thanks Geoff. Talk to you later.
Lori Rubinson: no worries. take it easy all. Geoff -- attribute me to both creative sports and to WFAN
(Commish): Sure
