(Commish): Welcome to Tim Heaney of KFFL
Tim Heaney: Hello Commish, glad to be here
(Commish): Thanks for joining us, Tim
(Commish): Welcome to Rob Calonge of Most Valuable Network
Rob Calonge: Thanks Commish. Hello Tim.
(Commish): Welcome to Arnold Zappasodi of Fantasy Guru
Tim Heaney: Hello, Rob
(Commish): Welcome to Jason Pliml of Mock Draft Central
Arnold Zappasodi: Hey, pleasure. Thanks for having me
(Commish): I'll start things off: How does your gameplan change in this draft, a non-PPR draft, versus a draft that awards a PPR
Jason Pliml: It has a big impact on which RB's I select outside of the top 5
Jason Pliml: It also increases the value of possession (read that non-TD scoring) WR's
Arnold Zappasodi: I tend to believe it makes quarterbacks more valuable myself
Arnold Zappasodi: and it emphasizes red zone go-to wideouts....Moss, Owens, Edwards, Wayne
Rob Calonge: I have to agree. It definitely adds a twist.
(Commish): Welcome to Jason Sarney of Fantasy Phenoms
Jason Sarney: Thanks for having me.!
Jason Sarney: glad to be here
Jason Sarney: how's everyone
Rob Calonge: Good here. How are you doing Jason?
Arnold Zappasodi: fantastic, the season's almost here
Jason Sarney: doing well, thanks
(Commish): Question from e-mail: #1 pick in non ppr league lt or ap
Tony Cincotta: Hello Everyone
Jason Sarney: got to be LT
(Commish): Welcome to Tony Cincotta of Melnick and Greco
Arnold Zappasodi: take the outlandish upside of AP, he's scary good
Tim Heaney: Still LT, given the track record and more well-rounded offense
(Commish): Welcome Darren Armani of Fantasy Mojo
Darren Armani: Let's hit it
Jason Sarney: it's like a brand new lexus or a 5-year old Merceded
Rob Calonge: LT
Jason Sarney: oh yea
(Commish): Welcome to Larry Bloemker of Time Warner Cable & Metro Sports
Larry Bloemker: What's up guys
Rob Calonge: Hey Larry
Larry Bloemker: Hey Rob
(Commish): Welcome to Mark Moyer of FF Bookmarks
(Commish): Welcome to David Gerczak of the Fantasy Football Players Championship
David Gerczak: hello all - should be fun
Rob Calonge: Hey David
(Commish): Question from AIM: what is the thinnest position this year?
(Commish): Welcome to Jon Rascon of Fantasy Football Trader
Darren Armani: Thinnest in terms of top level talent, I might say QB
Tony Cincotta: Quarterback...If you are the type to pick one early
Arnold Zappasodi: definitely QB, but it
Rob Calonge: With as many RBC's in the NFL this year, I think you'll see that RB is the thinnest.
Arnold Zappasodi: it's thinning out at RB too in terms of proven, reliable guys
Tim Heaney: The QB dropoff is significant after the top tier
David Gerczak: 300 carry RBs are very scarce yes
Larry Bloemker: I think FF puts extra emphasis on the RB position because most leagues start at least 2.
Rob Calonge: True
Larry Bloemker: In today's NFL RBBC is becoming more common, but we're still seeing leagues were you start a pair of RBs
Rob Calonge: Depending on the size of the league, that can leave a team without a starter at all.
Larry Bloemker: Been there
(Commish): Welcome to Scott Engel of Roto Experts
Rob Calonge: Yeah, don't want to go there again either.
Larry Bloemker: Not if I can help it
David Gerczak: hey moyer....
David Gerczak: ....you suck
David Gerczak: gotta talk a litt smack to get fired up
Mark Moyer: Shhh! Don't tell everyone. :)
Rob Calonge: Works for me...what's a draft without a little animosity.
David Gerczak: :)
(Commish): Comment from AIM: surprise there, not
David Gerczak: good luck everybody!
Tim Heaney: Yes, good luck to all
Jon Rascon: glad to be here, good luck to everyone indeed
Rob Calonge: Hope you all have the second best draft! :-)
Jason Sarney: same
Jason Sarney: ha
(Commish): Question from AIM: why moss at 5
Darren Armani: In this format without PPR, I see a 4 deep draft top tier. Not comfortable with Addai. I'll take
Darren Armani: the guy who might get me 20 TD's.
Darren Armani: Also a function of having done multiple mocks from the 5 spot.
(Commish): Question from AIM: so you'd take moss at 5 in ppr too
Darren Armani: Value of Addai and Gore is higher in PPR, might not do it there.
(Commish): Question from AIM: why lewis at 12?
Rob Calonge: That alert about gave me a heart attack when my turn came up. LOL
Jason Sarney: Addai will see the End Zone plenty
Arnold Zappasodi: I love his TDs but he's a tad injury-prone for my liking
Rob Calonge: I'm not so sure that Lewis is done yet. He turned in one of the best seasons for a RB last year and the Cleveland offense is going to be good.
Rob Calonge: I find it difficult to pass on him when there are so few RB's available.
(Commish): The non-PPR is making a huge difference -- all RBs in the second
(Commish): So far...
David Gerczak: here comes the WR run
Tim Heaney: Need to go with reliability early on
Jason Pliml: Is David Kircus still available?
Arnold Zappasodi: what about camarillo?
David Gerczak: 2 colts for the idiot - me
(Commish): Let me roll back for you
Jon Rascon: my number 1 WR. Andre Johnson
David Gerczak: ok ill take TO then
(Commish): Comment from AIM: Johnson and Owens over Wayne? you guys are nuts
Arnold Zappasodi: speakof the devil, there's Wayne
Jon Rascon: I have Andre and Wayne practically even. But I think we are going to see the complete breakthrough of Andre Johnson this year
Rob Calonge: Don't look at me...I would''ve gone with Wayne too. :-)
(Commish): A lot of folks have Wayne as their No. 1 or No. 2 WR
Tony Cincotta: I like Wayne # 2 myself with Harrison in question.
(Commish): Question from e-mail: Is RB-RB the right strategy still in non ppr leagues
Larry Bloemker: When you look at WR, you need to look at the QB and the system. Hard to argue with Wayne #2
Arnold Zappasodi: nice pick, guess I'll have to settle for Fitzy
(Commish): Question from AIM: who is everyone's first round bust this year?
Jason Pliml: Moss - he has one good year, then loses focus. The Hoodie won't have any patience for his crap
Arnold Zappasodi: tough question, grant seems like the best candidate to me
Darren Armani: Cmon. He has one good one left in him :)
Tony Cincotta: I am worried about Larry Johnson and the Kansas City offense is young and inexperienced...Larry is not a man of patience!
Jason Sarney: I am very nervous about LJ, as an injury tisk
Jason Sarney: as a bust...marshawn Lynch
Jon Rascon: I was just going to say LJ too.
Tony Cincotta: He is a better runner than motorist
Darren Armani: Maybe Portis, that offense has some ?? marks
Tim Heaney: LJ had the mileage even before his injury
Rob Calonge: I think any rookie that's drafted in the first round in any draft this year. There's always that guy.
Jason Sarney: i actually think Portis is a bargain at the end of the 1st
Jason Sarney: and in the 2nd, should he slip, is a steal
Tim Heaney: agreed
Rob Calonge: Larry Johnson is going to have trouble finding holes this year.
Jason Sarney: i think the Skins O will be pretty solid
Jason Sarney: and potentially dangerous
(Commish): Plax is good value there
Rob Calonge: It's tough for a team to do well offensively under a new scheme. After week 8 you may be right about the Skins.
Rob Calonge: I don't like it when a team has coaching turnover, unless it's undeniably an upgrade.
(Commish): I love Jones this year
(Commish): Good pick
Darren Armani: We'll see. Their sked is nice.
Rob Calonge: It's like the Lions or the 49ers hiring Martz to run the offense. He's proven and you know what he'll bring to the team.
Rob Calonge: Yes it is.
(Commish): Comment from AIM: good value on palmer
Jason Sarney: tahnks
Jason Sarney: had to hook him up with TJ
(Commish): Question from AIM: What does everyone project from Calvin Johnson?
Jason Sarney: 75 975 8
Arnold Zappasodi: if he stops landing on his back when he catches the ball, 10 TD shouldn't be tough
Jason Sarney: worried about the consistency of Offense
Arnold Zappasodi: sure that line is a mess
Jason Sarney: still a good year projection though
Tony Cincotta: Calvin played all season with a back injury. I think with Martz gone they will run the ball more and he has to compete with Roy Williams. I think 8 TD Catches
Jason Sarney: yup
(Commish): Comment from AIM: no love for rudi?
Tim Heaney: Early question
Tim Heaney: haha
Jon Rascon: simply by staying on the field more than he did last year he should be good for 8 tds. with any improvement, he is easily knocking on 10 tds.
Jason Sarney: 10 is a possiblity
Arnold Zappasodi: look at his schedule (shudder)
Jason Sarney: to me anything over 8 is a bonus
Darren Armani: Can't go wrong late in the 5th for him
Jason Sarney: this is true
Tony Cincotta: Agreed
Larry Bloemker: Especially since this draft is a flex
Tim Heaney: Shouldn't put too much stock in off-field circumstances like schedule
Tim Heaney: Rudi's in better shape this season
Tim Heaney: Their divisional opponents' defenses like PIT and BAL aren't as great on field as they are on paper
(Commish): I have to tell you guys, I'm cringing watching you draft. This is the infomercial for PPR scoring
Jason Pliml: my perfect handcuff (Willie & Rashard) is gone....
Jason Sarney: big Rashard fan
Darren Armani: Here's hoping Marvin is toast
(Commish): Quiet viewers tonight
Scott Engel: hey guys
Arnold Zappasodi: thought about him as insurance for Wayne oddly enough
(Commish): Hi Scott
Arnold Zappasodi: like that pick
Jason Pliml: Hey Scott!
Scott Engel: wasup
Jason Sarney: in a PPR i would not go for him, but he can easily get 8-10 TD's if healhy
(Commish): How's the new home treating ya, Scott?
Scott Engel: Jason, my main fantasy man
Scott Engel: Great! RotoExperts.com for those of you who haven;t heard, thx
Scott Engel: NPW ITS YOUR TURN - love that!
(Commish): Question from e-mail: I'm doing my first ever keeper league this year and I was wondering who is a sleeper to stash away late in the draft that might be flying under the radar?
Scott Engel: Laurent Robinson, WR Atlnata
Tony Cincotta: Chad Jackson NE
Scott Engel: sorry typo, typing fast
Jason Sarney: DeSean Jackson
Jason Sarney: PHI
Jason Sarney: WR
Scott Engel: Kevin Kolb too
Arnold Zappasodi: ray rice
Tim Heaney: agreed on Laurent
Scott Engel: thanks Tim
(Commish): Question from AIM: what are some must-handcuff situations?
Jason Pliml: I really like Parker / Mendenhall
Jason Sarney: Marion Barber and Felix Jones
Jon Rascon: Carolina
Arnold Zappasodi: Addai/Rhodes
Rob Calonge: AP and Chester Taylor
Jason Sarney: MJD Taylor
Tony Cincotta: All 4 Denver Backs
Tim Heaney: MJD Taylor
Jason Pliml: Javon Walker and a security guard
Jason Sarney: yea, tim
Rob Calonge: Fargas and McFadden
Rob Calonge: LOL
Scott Engel: Julius Jones/Duckett
(Commish): Question from e-mail: Do you guys think DJ Hackett will emerge as the starter opposite of Steve Smith? He seemed like one of the hottest young WRs last year outside of his injury.
Scott Engel: For Hackett, as long a she is healthy, he produces, that simple
Jason Sarney: A deep deep deep choice (i can hear the boos already) but if you can land ronnie brown as yuour no. 2 or even no. 3, take Ricky late
Tim Heaney: Hackett was a huge sleeper heading into last year; no one seems to be stepping up for that job, he has the talent
Scott Engel: Matt Moore can throw deep if Delhomme gets hurt
Rob Calonge: IF Delhomme gets hurt, they're all in trouble.
Rob Calonge: not a big Delhomme fan either.
Scott Engel: Personally, I like Moore
(Commish): Why they played Carr over Moore for as long as they did still remains a mystery to me
Rob Calonge: I agree
(Commish): Moooooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeee offense
Jason Sarney: great pick on Owen
Rob Calonge: Jason, I was thinking Ricky and Ronnie as well.
(Commish): The fans want more offense
Jason Sarney: Well- I must admit- I am a major Fins fan, so...
Arnold Zappasodi: thx
Jason Sarney: im glad I have one with me
Scott Engel: In Cincy, they want less offense
Scott Engel: offenses
Rob Calonge: I always feel a little dirty when I pick one of my own.
Tim Heaney: need to separate fantasy from reality sometimes
(Commish): Alrighty, we've stalled on viewer questions. I invite our experts to promote their sites to our viewers
Jason Sarney: I try not too, unless as a deep sleeper or can't turn down value
David Gerczak: In that case, play the FFPC, baby!
Jason Sarney: so if Chad Henne is on that board...
Jason Sarney: ha

Arnold Zappasodi: bulger and schaub, what value!
Jason Sarney: great value
Rob Calonge: Those are steals if they don't get injured.
Arnold Zappasodi: totally
Jason Pliml: ug. Another good handcuff - Maroney & Morris
(Commish): Larry is a man after my heart with the Gaffney pick
(Commish): Like him in this format
Jason Sarney: i would have grabbed one, but Carson had the same * Bye
Jason Sarney: 8
Larry Bloemker: LOL--couldn't pass him up
Larry Bloemker: Ahman is a nice pick at this point
Tim Heaney: Thanks, he's a great No. 4
Rob Calonge: This has to be the most difficult draft I've been a part of. You guys are great.
Tim Heaney: Thanks. That's the way it should be. A lot of good minds in here.
(Commish): Question from AIM: How big of an impact will Santonio Holmes have with medenhall coming in?
Jason Sarney: I thnk Holmes is a stud in the making.
Jason Sarney: Could even lead the Steelers in Yards
Rob Calonge: I agree. I think Mendenhall is too.
Darren Armani: Moyer with the guts pick
Tony Cincotta: I think by 32 TD 's thrown by Big Ben they are mre of a balanced team than in the past
Jason Sarney: in fact, it would not shock me to see Holmes in Hawaii seasons end
David Gerczak: i guess i should take a qb soon
Jason Sarney: NO..JON!
Jason Sarney: had em ready for my D
Jason Sarney: nice
Jon Rascon: Sorry, bro. I'm really feeling the Chargers this year. That defense should be rock solid
(Commish): Really like Porter there
Jason Sarney: Merriman, Cromartie
Jason Sarney: phew
Jason Sarney: TD's Sacks and INTs
(Commish): Question from AIM: our drafts our always had people drafting QB's and TE's way earlier than they should. how do I and other "exepert" drafters get these people to draft with a lot more intelligence?
Rob Calonge: I'm staying away from Porter unless I can't see not picking him.
(Commish): Viewer -- I'd tell them about Mock Draft Central :-)
(Commish): Or make it a money league
Tony Cincotta: Then tell them they draft like Matt Millen
Rob Calonge: Yep...money league changes a person.
Arnold Zappasodi: people are going to reach in any league your in, capitalize on it and deal with it
Rob Calonge: I agree Arnold. As long as they continue to play during the year.
(Commish): Question from AIM: with Vick out, will any players from Atlanta be worth drafting? i.e. R. white, Jenkins?
Jon Rascon: money leagues I have often seen be the biggest motivator to increased intelligence in leagues
Rob Calonge: Another thing I love to see in a draft, is someone loading up on kickers to fill the bye weeks.
Arnold Zappasodi: turner
Arnold Zappasodi: thats about it
Arnold Zappasodi: Jenkins looks like a #3 at best right now
Jason Sarney: agreed, but even then, amongst friends leagues can be biased..like Eli in the 4th for New York drafts
Jason Sarney: i've seen it
Tim Heaney: definitely
Tim Heaney: Gates in the second round out West sometimes
Arnold Zappasodi: #3 on his team I mean
Rob Calonge: Me too.
Jason Sarney: if a league didn't require me to draft a K, i'd pick up and drop acording to matchup, and simply roll the dice
Jason Sarney: load up on potential sleepers
Tim Heaney: Commish, apologies if this has already been answered, but does DEF count special teams scoring?
(Commish): Yes
Rob Calonge: Although, I've had kickers win it for me, I'm with you Jason. In fact I usually count on dropping the kicker I drafted on their bye.
Tim Heaney: thanks
Jason Sarney: here it comes....
(Commish): Question from AIM: What about Berrian in minnesota? will he do as good as in chicago?
Arnold Zappasodi: the closer we get to the season, the more I'm liking Berrian as a steal if you can get him as third wideout
Tim Heaney: His QB situation certainly didn't improve
Jason Pliml: hard to say - not much change in QB quality, but MIN has a better running game
Jason Sarney: He will be ok with Jackson. but strive when JDB takes the reigns
Jason Pliml: hard to say if that helps open things up or means they don't need to pass
Jon Rascon: I think with the attention that AD and the running game is going to attract, I think that will give Berrian several opportunities to get past the defense.
(Commish): Question from AIM: how lond will it take before minnesota puts Booty at the helm?
Jason Sarney: Over under Week 9?
Tony Cincotta: Should see plenty of one on one coverage as teams dig in against the run
Darren Armani: He'll get opportunities. I hope he doensn't drop as many this year.
(Commish): Call me crazy, but I sorta like Tarvaris this year
Jason Pliml: didn't they officially outlaw Booty-calls in Minnesota after the boat thing
Jon Rascon: Booty wont see the field unless the Vikings are eliminated from the playoffs IMO
Jason Sarney: I'd give Booty a shot if the Vikes are 1-3, to be honest
Arnold Zappasodi: have read Booty's coming along slowly
Arnold Zappasodi: dont expect much this year
Jason Sarney: Jackson is not good
David Gerczak: vikes are a potential playoff team - i would expect frerotte first
Jon Rascon: Absolutely David. I agree
Jason Sarney: I wonder how many former fin QBs will take a snap this season
(Commish): Question from AIM: why do teams seem to still like players like Vince Young, Vick, T. Jackson. yet that type of player rarely makes the big show?
Jason Sarney: Green, Daunte, Gus, Sage, A.J. Feely, Cleo Lemon...id safely guess about 6
Arnold Zappasodi: too enamored with speed instead of a QB's ability to diagnose coverage, like Peyton does with ease
David Gerczak: AIM ?: cuz they are good athletes that coaches seem to think they can coach up
Jason Pliml: Running QB's are exciting, they win in college, and they sell season tickets. How's that for a conspiracy theory?
Jason Pliml: I'll ask my own question - why no love for Tatum Bell. It's not as though Kevin Smith is proven?
Jason Sarney: bell ain't much more proven
(Commish): Question from AIM: Is it a good move to draft a QB, WR combo from the same team and capitalize on the double points? or is that draft poison?
Jason Pliml: but he has a cool name!
Arnold Zappasodi: can kill u in the playoffs
Jason Sarney: a bad week, or a RB heavy ground game is suicide
Jason Pliml: I've always believed in diversifying. A bad game by the QB kills off your WR production as well
Jason Sarney: but the top 5 combos are ok
Jason Sarney: Brady Moss
Jason Sarney: Romo TO
Jason Pliml: That isn't to say I avoid it at all costs, but I don't seek it out
Jason Sarney: Brees Colston
Jason Sarney: Cincy
Jason Sarney: lets not rely on Garrard and Reggie Williams though
Tony Cincotta: Edwards and Lee Evans pass also!!!
Jason Pliml: I didn't see that coming Scott :)
(Commish): Question from AIM: where should T. Henry go?
Jason Sarney: see his kids
Tony Cincotta: To Maury Povich to see if he anymore kids
Jason Sarney: all nine of them
Jason Sarney: nice tony
David Gerczak: HOOKUP!!! VY to Crumpler baby!
Tony Cincotta: Dont draft him
Jason Sarney: yup
Jason Sarney: a waste
Arnold Zappasodi: henry should have trouble finding work after shanhan questioned his football committment
Arnold Zappasodi: that's the black mark
Rob Calonge: With his knee and all of his personal issues, it's hard to blame Shanny for losing faith in him.
Jason Sarney: RB's are a dime a dozen to him, and if one is trouble, on to the neck, so he COULD end up as someone elses headache, but I wouldn't waste a roster spot on him
Jason Sarney: nex*t
David Gerczak: handcuff action
Rob Calonge: Yep
Rob Calonge: A decent one though.
Jason Pliml: still need to get my backup kicker
David Gerczak: lol
Rob Calonge: LOL!!
Jason Sarney: ha
Jason Pliml: very nice on Torain. I needed another WR or he was mine
Rob Calonge: Morten Anderson?
David Gerczak: i live in wisconsin and need a defense
David Gerczak: please...
David Gerczak: ...be generous
Scott Engel: thanks
Jason Sarney: so is there any post draft write ups? Analysis?
Jason Sarney: nice Booker pick
Arnold Zappasodi: thanks
Arnold Zappasodi: we'll have to see who's the handcuff to westy
Jason Sarney: wish Oarcells held on to him
(Commish): Nope
Jason Sarney: was the NO. 1 HS prospect out of HS
(Commish): Nothing needed
David Gerczak: yeehaa
Jason Sarney: *P
Arnold Zappasodi: but my thinking is they'll do a committee if westy goes down
Jason Sarney: exactly right- perfect timing for such a pick
(Commish): Question from AIM: will ocho cinco calm down and play this year?
Jason Sarney: 100000000%
Arnold Zappasodi: buckhalter might get goalline action though in that scenario
Jason Pliml: I'm not optimistic about Chad Johnson. He seems to be more distracted and less productive each year
Jason Pliml: on top of that, why did he put off surgery so long. that's not a good sign
Arnold Zappasodi: and its clear who palmer looks for in the endzone
Jon Rascon: he has been inching down my rankings
Rob Calonge: *SLEEPER PICK* I don't normally bank on rookie wideouts, but I love this guy.
Arnold Zappasodi: sweed
David Gerczak: even if CJ is down 20% - at the 3.12/4.01 he is a bargain
Arnold Zappasodi: ?
Jason Sarney: HArdy
Arnold Zappasodi: ahhhh
Jason Sarney: ?
(Commish): Question from AIM: any other players to avoid or only take a long shot on?
Jon Rascon: Thats a solid pick Tim. I went back and forther between him and Jackson.
Arnold Zappasodi: take a long shot on pierre thomas
Arnold Zappasodi: duece is rebuilt from the knees down and reggie cant pound it up in there
Jason Sarney: take a shot on Jason Campbell as a NO. 2 QB..he could be a top 12 stat guy if healthy and that O clicks
Jon Rascon: But Pierre Thomas has been going before the last couple rounds in many drafts
Tim Heaney: Thanks. Fun way to end the draft.
Jason Sarney: top 12 QB's that is
(Commish): Thanks to the experts for joining us
Arnold Zappasodi: well, I still think he can called a "long shot"
Jason Sarney: Thanks so mich for having me guys, this was a blast
(Commish): Thanks to the viewers as well
Tim Heaney: Thanks for having KFFL on. Always a pleasure.
(Commish): Thanks, Tim
Jon Rascon: absolutely. Im just saying you have to mindful of where you "target" him
Rob Calonge: Thanks for having me. It was eye-opening.
David Gerczak: Great draft all - make sure to go to all of these advice sites for your info before your FFPC draft, lol.
David Gerczak: have a great year all!
Larry Bloemker: Thanks guys Good Luck everyone
Darren Armani: good time
Tim Heaney: Good luck to all
Jon Rascon: Thanks for having me and FantasyFootballTrader.com with you today. Best of luck to all!
Arnold Zappasodi: glad to participate on behalf of FantasyGuru.com, thanks for hosting, keep up the phenomenal work!
Scott Engel: Thanks a lot for having me :)
(Commish): Thanks guys
Mark Moyer: Great draft, everyone. Thank you for having me.
