(COMMISH): Welcome to Adam Allen of Fantasy Insider Online
(COMMISH): Welcome to our early viewers
(COMMISH): Welcome to Gil Brovar of Fantasy Football Mastermind
(COMMISH): Welcome to Phil Eletto of Roto Experts
PHIL ELETTO: greetigns one and all, que pasa!
(COMMISH): Welcome to Paul Sandy of The Huddle
PAUL GRECO: checking in ...
(COMMISH): Welcome to Paul Greco of Melnick and Greco Fantasy Sports
PAUL GRECO: How you doin there Fella's
(COMMISH): Just a note that Paul will be doing a live broadcast of tonight's draft. It can be heard at: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/FantasyGridironLive/2008/08/19/Fantasy-Gridiron-Live
(COMMISH): Welcome to Jason Sarney of Fantasy Phenoms
GIL BROVAR: hey everyone
(COMMISH): Just a reminder that this is a non-PPR draft
JASON SARNEY: gracias
(COMMISH): Welcome to Paul Charchian of League Safe
JASON SARNEY: Hey all
PAUL CHARCHIAN: hello everyone!
ERIC HINZ: Hello. Baseball has been disappointing but football offers renewed fantasy life!
(COMMISH): Welcome to Eric Hinz of Fake Teams
(COMMISH): I'll throw out the first question: Anyone who wouldn't draft LT No. 1?
(COMMISH): Guess not
ADAM ALLEN: He's already queued up for me
PHIL ELETTO: no reason for me not to
PHIL ELETTO: he was my sleeper
(COMMISH): I'll throw out another question: How big of a factor is the non-PPR format in your planning?
PAUL CHARCHIAN: No flex position, right?
(COMMISH): Correct. No flex
JASON SARNEY: huge
JASON SARNEY: getting 2 or 3 90+ rec WR/TE
JASON SARNEY: s is major
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail on Nate Burleson: how late or early should i pick him up?
ERIC HINZ: If it were two WR, it would be a bigger difference. The 3rd WR cancels it out
(COMMISH): Welcome to Larry Bloemker of Time Warner Cable and Metro Sports
LARRY BLOEMKER: Thanks Commish--Good to be back
(COMMISH): Glad to have you back
PAUL SANDY: hello all.
(COMMISH): Burleson is an interesting player with all the dinged up Seattle WRs. He's been going in the eighth-round of most 12-team drafts
(COMMISH): It'll be interesting to see where he goes tonight
ADAM ALLEN: I'm over Nate Burleson. He's been ready for a break out season for the last 3 years.
(COMMISH): Welcome to Tommy Stephens of Fantasy Football Edge
LARRY BLOEMKER: Burleson has been getting good marks from Holmgren all camp long, so that's encouraging
(COMMISH): Another question from e-mail on a Bobby Engram: how late or early should i pick him up?
TOMMY STEPHENS: Hi All
(COMMISH): Welcome to Todd Farino of Fantasy Football Search
(COMMISH): The True Guru is here :-)
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: When do you guys decide to take Larry Johnson. He seems to be the guy nobody wants this year.
TODD FARINO: He everyone
JASON SARNEY: terrible O...
PAUL SANDY: engram is old...old guys heal slowly. i'd stay away.
TODD FARINO: HOw are all these geniues doing?
JASON SARNEY: not many easy goal line chances he was used to 2 seasons ago
PHIL ELETTO: sorry guys, phone call
(COMMISH): Hard to find anyone who is high on LJ this year
PHIL ELETTO: re burleson, what offseason havent you heard good things about him
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: should i draft edwards or lynch in a ppr league
TODD FARINO: Tough, but Edwards
(COMMISH): I'm guessing that' Braylon, not Trent :-)
LARRY BLOEMKER: That O-line isn't what it used to be, and the QB situation isn't looking too great right now, still LJ is going to get 300+ carries. There aren't many RBs we can say that about
TODD FARINO: This is PPR, right?
(COMMISH): No PPR
PHIL ELETTO: this draft is not
TODD FARINO: ok
TODD FARINO: That's what I thought
PHIL ELETTO: i shoulda let you pick once, LOL
PHIL ELETTO: do we already have a spoeed bump?
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: Any concerns over Stephen Jackson's holdout?
PHIL ELETTO: YES compounded w/ O line and QB
JASON SARNEY: Qb TD worth 6 or 4 in this league?
PHIL ELETTO: but can;t g wring with him at this point
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: Is Shaun Alexander totally done, or is someone going to pick him up and if so, is he worth drafting?
TODD FARINO: What Phil said about Jackson
(COMMISH): 4, Jason
JASON SARNEY: thank you
TODD FARINO: Its Tom Brady and I'd rather have him then MOss or Goe
TODD FARINO: Gore
LARRY BLOEMKER: More bad news for Jackson Setterstrom G and Torin backup T are gone--that O line isn't deep to begin with
(COMMISH): I think Shaun Alexander is done
(COMMISH): He could turn up somewhere, but he's not worth drafting -- even in the deepest of league
PHIL ELETTO: he's on the corner offering autographed copies of his madden cover
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: In a ten person non-PPR league, if you're 9th, how early do you take a QB? Debating on taking Roethlisberger in the third or waiting to see whats left in fifth / sixth.
PHIL ELETTO: i would wiat for the 4th rnd on Ben
PHIL ELETTO: Brees 3rd
PHIL ELETTO: maybe even 5th on Brn
(COMMISH): Fourth in a 10-teamer does seem early
PAUL CHARCHIAN: Sniped! Really wanted Edwards
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: What runningbacks that might slip into the second round have a shot at being top-10 runningbacks?
PAUL SANDY: i was targeting Moss or Brady in Rd. 1 . . . what goes around comes around.
(COMMISH): Marhshawn Lynch falls to the second-round of most drafts
(COMMISH): He sticks out
JASON SARNEY: Marshaw Lynch is ONLY RB in B-lo
(COMMISH): I may be in the minority, but I like Earnest Graham, too
JASON SARNEY: many chances
JASON SARNEY: i really was happy to see him fall
TODD FARINO: McGahee is a solid pick in the second round
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: Who would you rather have...Housh, Fitz, or Braylon?
TODD FARINO: Even with the surgery
TODD FARINO: Fitz all the way
PAUL CHARCHIAN: Braylon
JASON SARNEY: McGahee is a major injurt risk and Ray Ric is a guy to target...Next Ryan Grant?
JASON SARNEY: nice Adam
PAUL SANDY: ronnie brown...wow
JASON SARNEY: Risky, but high reward turn
JASON SARNEY: I like the Chad pick
ADAM ALLEN: I am a risk taker (especially when I have LT)
(COMMISH): Question for Paul Greco: If you go wr wr in the 1st two, you're going to really have to go rb rb in the next rounds at least, right? What is your overall strategy? I also am drafting out of the 11th spot.
PAUL GRECO: YES...looking at the NEW School of thinking...grabbing two WR"s with 90+ catches will help me later in the draft
(COMMISH): Does seem like WR falls off quicker than RB
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: is antonio bryant going to be a sleeper this year?
PAUL SANDY: sleeper or stoner?
PAUL GRECO: true...but 1,000 yd and 7-9 TD bye a WR to me is just as good as a RB doing it
TODD FARINO: This is not a PPR league so the 90+ doesn't help
PHIL ELETTO: but tghe yards from it sure help
(COMMISH): Not many are selecting Bryant -- and it does seem like he's in the right place to possibly produce
PAUL GRECO: but 1,000 yds receiving does
TODD FARINO: I'd stay away from Bryant
PAUL GRECO: so does 7-9 td's
TODD FARINO: Go for it with the 7-9 TDs, solid plan
(COMMISH): Question from AIM: Do the two game suspenions really hurt smith and marshall's fantasy value that much?
(COMMISH): That question was actually from e-mail -- my bad
PHIL ELETTO: it "Dings" their value, thats all IMHO
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: I'm thinking about playing the matchups this year between David Garrard and Jason Campbell. This way, I can spend high picks on RB and WRs. What do you guys think of this strategy?
ERIC HINZ: Agree. What are a couple of games pre-bye weeks anyways
LARRY BLOEMKER: Smith might be an idiot, and he may sit two games, but if the guy can get somebody to get him the ball, he's money
PHIL ELETTO: i would hope to get a little better stble of QB's than the 2 you noted, but otherwise thats a decent strategy
(COMMISH): I think if you miss out on one of the top-tier QBs a QBBC is a decent idea
(COMMISH): Think I'd rather go QBBC than count on someone like McNabb
TODD FARINO: Whitten was a great pick
(COMMISH): Question from AIM: What players take the biggest hit from the no PPR
JASON SARNEY: Mason
TODD FARINO: Great pick Paul, that was one I was considering
JASON SARNEY: Welker
(COMMISH): Welker dropped quite a bit, have to figure the scoring had something to do with it
PAUL CHARCHIAN: thanks, todd
(COMMISH): Calvin is moving on up
PAUL CHARCHIAN: I like to be on the front end of a TE run
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: is bush in the 5th and grahram in the 6th a steal in a ppr league?
TODD FARINO: He definitely takes a hit with the no PPR, but getting his TDs in the 4th was very good
LARRY BLOEMKER: I'm big on CJ--He can be Houshmanzedah-like
(COMMISH): Hellz yeah on that question
PHIL ELETTO: im with commish
(COMMISH): Bush is a second-rounder in any PPR league -- no questions asked
ERIC HINZ: Absolutely hate my draft.
JASON SARNEY: moe like the other way around with CJ and TJ
(COMMISH): That probably means you're in good shape
TODD FARINO: True Commish
PAUL CHARCHIAN: Eric, Manning was a steal
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: i drafted gore lynch colston harrison bush graham with my top 6 picks. where they good selections
TODD FARINO: Wow, I like my receivers for 4th and 5th round selections
JASON SARNEY: love my WR Core
PHIL ELETTO: can i borrow them?
JASON SARNEY: trade ya?
JASON SARNEY: need a RB
PHIL ELETTO: surely
PHIL ELETTO: LOL
(COMMISH): That is a very nice top-six
TODD FARINO: lol
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: What are your thoughts on Cutler this year. Can I count on him as my starter?
TODD FARINO: I think Harrison will be fine and get 8-9 TDs as ong as he stays healthy
PAUL CHARCHIAN: The three picks that preceded me, we're the three I was going to take
JASON SARNEY: ZRICKY!!
JASON SARNEY: early, but he looks great so far
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: I have the 12th pick this year, and was hoping to get Turner with 3.12, but that is looking unlikely with the way he is going off. I generally go RB, RB... is it to risky to go something like Lynch-Turner with 1.12, 2.1? Or should I stick to a TO, Wayne, Grant type player?
PAUL CHARCHIAN: sorry for the slow pick. i got caught flat footed when everyone i wanted just went
(COMMISH): We're running Paul Sandy
(COMMISH): 2.1 is too early for Turner, imo
(COMMISH): The o-line and QB is too much of a concern to grab him there
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: Who gets the most touches this year in Carolina..Stewart or Williams, baring injury?
(COMMISH): Hasn't been a good start for Stewart
(COMMISH): I question whether he can get on track this year
PHIL ELETTO: Williams, but cannot dicount inj w/ him
(COMMISH): I'll go with Williams
ADAM ALLEN: As an Eagles fan, I actually have seen the Panthers...
(COMMISH): Question from AIM: Is mendenhall gonna be a goal line back?
JASON SARNEY: Yes
JASON SARNEY: \
JASON SARNEY: Sorry, Willie
ADAM ALLEN: DeAngelo looks very good and the clear starter at this point
TODD FARINO: Willie is getting no respect
(COMMISH): I'm starting to warm up to Parker
ADAM ALLEN: I'm with you Todd - I wouldnt count him out
(COMMISH): He's only a year removed from a 13-TD season
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: what do you think of Robert Meachem?
TODD FARINO: I think he will be much better this year
(COMMISH): I personally like Meachem better in non-PPR leagues, like this. Think he'll get some scores, but too many other targets for him to make an impact with the No. of catches he has
ERIC HINZ: Are there enough balss in NO for Colsten, Bush, Shockey and Meachem?
TODD FARINO: Cotchery went early!
TODD FARINO: Excellent pick Eric!
PHIL ELETTO: what about David PAtten?
TODD FARINO: I thought he'd float for a few more rounds
ERIC HINZ: Are you a kindergarten teacher, Todd? You make me feel better. I'm leaving a 3WR draft with Cotchery as my top one.
PHIL ELETTO: yo is saying i cant take a guy!
TODD FARINO: Geezzzz
TODD FARINO: Very nice steal with Clark
PHIL ELETTO: couldnt decide on curtis or jackson
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: If I get Randy Moss with the eighth pick in a ten-team ppr league, what RBs should I target in the second round?
(COMMISH): Lynch, Jones-Drew, Bush
ADAM ALLEN: marshawn
(COMMISH): All solid picks in a PPR
JASON SARNEY: Lynch
PHIL ELETTO: MJD
JASON SARNEY: Main guy in Buff
JASON SARNEY: 30 touches at least
LARRY BLOEMKER: Drew in a PPR
JASON SARNEY: MJD and Bush split
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: Which team has the worst handcuff situation? Who has the best?
JASON SARNEY: Denver
JASON SARNEY: worts
JASON SARNEY: Worst
ADAM ALLEN: houston is pretty bad
(COMMISH): Gotta say the Vikings have the worst -- they'll cost you two valuable picks
ADAM ALLEN: or do they fall in the no RB at all category
JASON SARNEY: DAL PIT, OAK not bad
(COMMISH): At least with Denver, you can get the guy in the sixth- and 11th-round
LARRY BLOEMKER: Houston isn't a handcuff it's an HMO waiting to happen
ADAM ALLEN: who even plays for them?
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: do you think fargas will be a 1,000 yard back this year?
(COMMISH): Slaton has looked the best so far
(COMMISH): Be interesting to see if they give him a shot
ADAM ALLEN: I would imagine he's the only real draftable player
LARRY BLOEMKER: Yes, he has --it would be interesting
PHIL ELETTO: want no part of houston;s RB's
(COMMISH): Chris Brown has some value, too
(COMMISH): I'll say no on Fargas
(COMMISH): Think McFadden takes away too many of his carries
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: Which rookie runningback is in the best situation?
TOMMY STEPHENS: M.Forte
ADAM ALLEN: I am really liking what I see from Chris Johnson
(COMMISH): Best situation: Forte and Kevin Smith, though their lines stink
JASON SARNEY: And here....we.....go........let em fall boys
(COMMISH): Best for Fantasy purposes? Who knows?
(COMMISH): I could see any one of five or six rookie RBs being the top producer
JASON SARNEY: maybe even 6-7
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: do you think ricky williams will have a good year?
PHIL ELETTO: all signs point to yes.... and my magic 8 ball agrees
TOMMY STEPHENS: Yes, If he can stay clean
JASON SARNEY: Carries=Success for Ricky...if he is healthy and clean, there is no reason to belive he can't contribute
PAUL CHARCHIAN: I like him a LOT more than Brown.
(COMMISH): The questions have slowed down a bit, so I invite our experts to plug their sites or anything else they have going on
ADAM ALLEN: Check out www.fantasyinsideronline.com for your fantasy football needs and look out for www.draft365.com this offseason for your NFL Draft info
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: What are the chances of Brady throwing for 50 TD's again? What is realistic? And is he worthy of a #1 if he throws for 30 TD's?
PAUL GRECO: HOLY PIMPIN' ADAM!!!
PHIL ELETTO: Rotoexperts.com (shamelss plug),
TODD FARINO: If you guys want to listen to a great draft, Johnny Archives Big JAIL draft is going on http://www.blogtalkradio.com/FridayNightFootball on Blog Talk Radio. Fun draft

JASON SARNEY: www.fantasyphenoms.com for daily news, updates, strategy and out-side of the box analysis
JASON SARNEY: Someone is watching Hard Knocks
PHIL ELETTO: t y
(COMMISH): I'm a little more optimistic on Brady than most. Think he gets close to 40 in '08
JASON SARNEY: Anyne who can fair catch a football while holding 6 other balls deserves a spot on a fantays team
JASON SARNEY: not fair catch, just catch
(COMMISH): If he gets 40, he's worth a first-round seletion
LARRY BLOEMKER: fantasyhuddle.tv--from the good folks at Time Warner Cable and Metro Sports
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: do you think ricky williams will be a 1,000 yard back?
PHIL ELETTO: no
ERIC HINZ: Things went real wrong in Miami if Ricky goes for a 1000.
PHIL ELETTO: they will beplaying from behind too much
PHIL ELETTO: line isnt that good
PHIL ELETTO: and ronnie brown has to figure in somewhere if not getting majorituy of carries
PHIL ELETTO: forgive my fat thumbs
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: In a TD heavy league, how high do you rank Dallas' Def / Special Teams with the addition of Adam Jones.
ERIC HINZ: Long is going to have to be joe Thomas for it to be good. And rookie Donald Thomas will have to be a steal of the draft, too
(COMMISH): He's an electric kick returner -- that's for sure
PAUL CHARCHIAN: Hey, Gill, that was my guy. Mind putting him back?
(COMMISH): Think the Dallas "D" is underrated
PAUL GRECO: Underrated? No Overrated...so much talk right now
JASON SARNEY: they shouldn't be
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: Who do you guys see gettin 300 touches this year?
JASON SARNEY: Marshall
JASON SARNEY: Marshawn
JASON SARNEY: sorry
JASON SARNEY: AP
PHIL ELETTO: thomas jones as a surprise candidate
LARRY BLOEMKER: LJ
JASON SARNEY: LJ may not survive to get there
(COMMISH): Question for Paul Greco: Are you really confident heading out of this draft with Schaub and Rivers as QB?
JASON SARNEY: I see him missing signifigant time
PAUL GRECO: Oh ya pal...Both have great weapons around them...of course health is a concern, but the number they both have when on the field speaks for themselves
PAUL GRECO: I agree Thomas Jones 300+
PHIL ELETTO: trying to look for a surprise, thanks man
TODD FARINO: Dallas D is a sleeper
JASON SARNEY: GreaT DeSean pick
PHIL ELETTO: how u figure a sleeping in Big D?
PAUL GRECO: Love is...great pick EH
PHIL ELETTO: Cal, nabbed my guy, nice!
(COMMISH): Question for Paul Greco: Paul TJ that high seems like a reach. What do you know about him that we dont?
ERIC HINZ: Thanks, Paul. I'd be looking to deal a RB for a WR with this draft.
TODD FARINO: They are a sleeper, the Dallas D
TODD FARINO: They will be one of the best by the end of the year
PAUL CHARCHIAN: Bulger was waaay overdue
TODD FARINO: Eddie Royal was an Auto Pick
(COMMISH): I like the Dallas return game
TOMMY STEPHENS: I think so PC
TODD FARINO: I wanted Bulger, so the auto pick screwed me, I'll live
PAUL GRECO: TJ a reach...H elead the leaguein catches and is in a contract year. plus he plays in a pass first offense...I don't think it's reach...thanks for the questions
PAUL GRECO: UH...I got screwed there
PAUL GRECO: typing for the question
TODD FARINO: Contract year doesn't matter in stats
(COMMISH): Hope nobody teased the Browns tonight
(COMMISH): Love the Perry and Thomas picks
TODD FARINO: Got Bradshaw to back up Jacobs
TODD FARINO: Hopefully he stays out of JAIL!
PAUL CHARCHIAN: thx commish
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: What is the prediction for Norwood now that ATL has Turner?
PHIL ELETTO: not much
PHIL ELETTO: he has skills, but his ship has sailed
(COMMISH): Agreed. Poor guy should've had his chance last year
PHIL ELETTO: agreed
(COMMISH): He won't be sending Bobby Petrio a X-Mas card
PHIL ELETTO: maybe a t shirt
PHIL ELETTO: didnt petrino have t shirts made up?
(COMMISH): As we wind down, I'd like to thank our experts for joining us tonight
TOMMY STEPHENS: it's been fun
TOMMY STEPHENS: thx all
(COMMISH): Yes, agreed
(COMMISH): Thanks guys
(COMMISH): Thanks viewers
PHIL ELETTO: beeen a pleasure and a lesson!
LARRY BLOEMKER: Nice draft--no time wasted here
PAUL CHARCHIAN: many thanks to everyone for the quick picks
PAUL SANDY: well done. loved the pace.
PHIL ELETTO: did i read that there was audio to this?
(COMMISH): Agreed. A little over an hour isn't bad at all
(COMMISH): Yeah, audio: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/FantasyGridironLive/2008/08/19/Fantasy-Gridiron-Live
(COMMISH): Question from e-mail: Does the movement by many teams to a RB by committee change anyone's thoughts on draftings RBs early?
PAUL GRECO: 55 minutes left in the audio show...
TOMMY STEPHENS: Here my sleeper pick this year. He having one of the best preseasons this year for the 49ers
PHIL ELETTO: stil want a workhorse ASAP, just dont reach over moss brady, etc
PAUL CHARCHIAN: Thanks, everyone!
LARRY BLOEMKER: If you would have waited on Morgan, I would have taken him
(COMMISH): Thanks guys. Have a good preseaons!
TOMMY STEPHENS: sorry
PHIL ELETTO: good luck all!
LARRY BLOEMKER: Thanks Everybody
